10Nico Minoru

Magician, Runaway, Linguist

It only makes sense tobring a few magicians and wizardsinto the Magic universe and Nico Minoru is one of the coolest characters Marvel has introduced in years. A former regular teenager until she and her friends discovered her parents were part of a secret cult dedicated to sacrificing people in a ritual to an evil entity.

Nico’s powers are channeled through a magical weapon, Staff of One, and have a unique caveat. She cannot repeat the same spell twice, requiring her to either use synonyms to her spells, or to say them in different languages. Nico could come to Magic with special equipment that modifies her abilities or utilize discard effects to power up her abilities.

Marvel Comics Universes Beyond Malekith

9Malekith

Accursed, Dark Elf, Scourge Of Svartalfheim

A Dark Elf who has plagued Thor and the Asgardians for ages, Malekith has waged war across the Nine Realms, fighting not only Thor but all of the heroes on Earth in his years of villainy. While Malekith has always been defeated by Thor or other heroes, he has caused untold devastation in the Marvel universe time and again.

As an Elf, Malekith would fit right into many of Magic’s archetypes, likely being a green and black creature with some impressive stats. The vile Elf also has a mastery of altering his appearance, giving him the potential to copy creatures with clone effects.

8Moon Knight

Mercenary, Midnight Son, A Little Unstable

After a mission in Egypt went wrong, Marc Spector found himself dying before a statue of Khonshu, the God of the Moon. Khonshu made him a deal, to save his life in exchange for servitude. As Moon Knight, Spector is a vigilante compared to many other heroes, often exacting his own form of justice in the name of his god.

As a Magic card, Moon Knight would fit into a white and black or even a red, white, and black card, reflecting his violent actions while protecting the innocent people of the night. Moon Knight has a tendency to take a lot of damage during his brutal fights, so an ability that damages an opponent when he takes damage would be fitting.

Marvel Comics Universes Beyond Black Widow

7Black Widow

Avenger, Super Spy, Lots Of Red In Her Ledger

A former KGB spy turned superhero, Black Widow has a long and deadly history in Marvel comics. Trained to be the ultimate spy, Natasha Romanoff can infiltrate any base, assassinate any target, and use her extensive training to complete her mission. Since joining the Avengers years ago, Natasha has turned over a new leaf, using her skills to save civilians and entire planets with other heroes.

Having a mono black, or even a blue black card would fit Black Widow nicely, with an ability that lets her sneak in and deal damage under youropponent’s noses like skulk or ninjutsu. While she might not have stats like other powerhouses in the Marvel universe, she could tear your opponent’s hand apart with discard effects to keep them on the backstep.

Elsa Bloodstone

6Elsa Bloodstone

Monster Hunter, Weapon Master, Immortal

There are plenty of monsters that stalk the night in Magic so why not bring with you an experienced hunter to put them in their place? Elsa Bloodstone has a long history of fighting all sorts of monsters, having been an important member of the Midnight Sons and the Defenders during her time as a hero.

With her Mastery of all sorts of weapons, Else could make a powerful equipment-based creature that grows even stronger the more weapons she has available. An ability that would let her destroy specific creature types would be interesting too, bring an experienced hunter of many of the evil creatures in Magic.

doctor doom

5Doctor Doom

Sorcerer, Dictator, Occasionally God

Monarch of Latveria and long-time enemy of the Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom is a complicated villain who will go to any lengths to see his plans succeed. Doom is immensely powerful, with magic rivaling Doctor Strange which he melds with his mechanical prowess, all to match his cosmically huge ego.

Doctor Doom has an extensive history in the comics, from fighting demons in hell to coalescing the entire multiverse together at the moment of cosmic extinction through might, magic, and sheer force of will. Doom would fit well as a monarch commander, letting you rule the battlefield from the throne.

gorr channels a symbiote in his fingertips

4Gorr

Butcher, God Hater, Wielder Of All-Black The Necrosword

There are few villains who have caused as much devastation in the Marvel universe as Gorr, the God Butcher. A somewhat newer villian in the Marvel universe, Gorr swore he would kill all the gods in the universe after his uncaring deities let his planet fall to ruin and his family die while they lived in ignorance.

There are few ways to deal with Gods in Magic, often times they are indestructible or have some alternate way to return to your hand or back to the battlefield. Gorr might be a permanent answer to these deities, exiling permanently from the game.

Marvel Comics Universes Beyond Nova

3Nova

Survivor, Space Cop, Human Rocket

One of the most powerful cosmic heroes in the Marvel Universe, Nova has a long history of fighting monsters and traveling to unknown worlds. Empowered by the Nova Force of Xandar, Nova brings with him the might of an entire civilization to keep the universe safe.

With a fierce sense of justice, Nova would do well as a red, white, and blue creature, turning his impressive strength andskill into a powerful prowess creature. He’d of course have flying, a nod to his title as the Human Rocket.

Marvel Comics Universes Beyond Storm

2Storm

X-Man, Goddess, Regent Of Arrako

A long-time member of the X-Men, Storm is a central member of the team, fighting to protect mutants from harm and now leading the people of Mars. As an omega level mutant, Storm’s powers are paralleled by few, as she’s capable of controlling the atmosphere and weather to respond to her will.

As a card, Storm could easily be a blue green creature, reflecting her connection to nature and her ability to control it. Since she needs a planet with an atmosphere to use her power, giving her a landfall or an ability that scales with the number of lands you control could be a unique adaptation of her powers.

Marvel Comics Universes Beyond Magneto

1Magneto

Master Of Magnetism, Mutant, Reformed Protector

One of the most powerful mutants to ever live, Magneto has complete control over all types of magnetism in the universe. He can manipulate everything from specks of metal to a planet’s entire electromagnetic field, bending it to his will.

Magneto might fit best as a blue and red creature, working with the number of artifacts you control to power up his stats or even letting you sacrifice them to deal damage to your opponents. If there’s a strong Mutant creature type in the set he would also make a fantastic creature to have a lord-type effect to give all your Mutant creatures a buff or two,
