Renown is an important system inPalia- you earn Renown by completing quests, chatting with villagers, giving gifts, and generally leveling up your skills and finding rare creatures. You’ll get Renown for pretty much everything, which is then used to upgrade your Focus bar.

You can upgrade your Focus bar at two different shrines - the guide below details where you can find the shrines, how the upgrade works, and which one you should prioritize. This should cover what you should do with your Renown when you’ve saved a lot of it up.

How To Use Renown To Upgrade Your Focus Bar

There are two shrines where you may spend your Renown to upgrade your Focus bar.

Dragon Shrine - Maji’s Hollow

Located to the east of where you first enter the map, this is where you may spend (or Commune) Renown to boost theoverall size of your Focus bar. It costs incrementally more Renown and you also get diminishing returns. Thankfully, there’s plenty of Renown in the game. You can see an image of what the shrine looks like above.

Dragon Shrine - Spawn/Phoenix Falls

This is the Shrine located in the area where you first enter the map. You can spend your Renown to upgrade the boost you to get to experience from Focus, originally in increments of 10% and then smaller as you upgrade further. We’ve marked the area below.

Most of the levels for upgrading your Focus bar will cost100 Renown. The cost gets higher the more you level the bar. You can commune multiple times in a row - just walk away from the shrine a little bit, then return. There’s a small delay between communes.

What To Spend Renown On?

Out of these two, we recommend that youprioritize the Focus boost via the Phoenix Falls shrine first(that’s the second shrine we mentioned above), as the boost is more potent to begin with. Expanding your Focus bar is better later on when you have more powerful Focus foods.
