Assassin’s Creed Miragecontinues the series' trend of spending skill points first introduced in Assassin’s Creed Unity. Being a smaller scale game thanOrigins,Odyssey, andValhalla, you’ll find the skill choices aren’t as vast and differ in some ways, but all cater to the gameplay of Miragethat somewhat goes back to the basics.

The skill tree consists of three branches – Phantom, Trickster, and Predator. Each of these skill tree branches offers unique skills tied to the theme. Here are the best skills you’ll want to aim for to have a smoother AC journey.

10Vision Boost

Eagle Vision is officially back in its original name and visual design in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It’ll feel like the good ‘ol days of Assassin’s Creed using it, and increasing its proximity is something you’ll probably want for a better view of more out-of-reach enemies and chests.

Luckily, there’s a Vision Boost skill for Basim within the Predator branch that will increase its scan radius. you may now examine enemies and their numbers from a distance rather than needing to get closer up, and you won’t need to rely as much on Enkidu for tediously marking all the enemies from above.

9Focus Boost

A focus meter comes into play directly after you eliminate your first target of the Order of Ancients, Al-Ghul, and fills up rather slowly as you progress. This meter will allow you to chain assassinations in a cool way by having you mark targets like a deadeye systemand teleport directly to themto carry out assassinations.

To speed up the blue bars of your meter getting filled, you can unlock the Focus Boost skill, which rewards you the increase only from the stealth kills you achieve. It’s another way the new game incentivizes the stealth route, and Assassin’s Focus is an excellent aid for multiple-target stealth, so the skill description compliments the ability well.

8Breakfall

Assassin’s Creed Mirage reintroduces a skill that helps with fall damage called Breakfall. While it may not make you completely immune from taking any damage when you fall from great heights and distances as you could in Odyssey, the amount of health depleted is still minimal.

Scaling tall structures is a core aspect of any Assassin’s Creed game, and since health doesn’t regenerate, it would be upsetting if you were to lose a good amount each time from just a fall. Every bit of health is important in AC Mirage because enemies can deal a lot of additional damage if you’re not careful in conflict.

7Elixir Pocket

Speaking of health, this is an early-game skill you may want to invest in if you’re struggling with combat with numerous enemies and want less trouble searching around for spots to eat. Mirage does keep some elements from past games like Valhalla, and using Elixirs to get your health back up is one of them.

It’s the very second slot once you start the Trickster branch of the skill tree, and it only costs two points. The game starts you off with two Elixir slots, and while one extra from Elixir Pocket may seem like nothing, it can mean the difference between life or desynchronization in combat.

The tutorial description for Eagle Sense from the Predator branch of the skill tree in AC Mirage.

6Eagle Sense

Just like Bayek had Senu and Kassandra had Ikaros, Basim in AC Mirage also has an eagle companion named Enkidu in addition to Eagle Vision. Although this eagle can’t harass enemy soldiers like his predecessors, he has a new trick in the skill tree called Eagle Sense.

This skill is the equivalent of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West’s Focus scan of the environment which would reveal a machine’s patrol path. Enkidu will go the extra mile for marked enemies to show a similar white line your mount follows to convey the enemy’s path, something more reliable than the cone of vision through an Eagle Vision scan. Plus, unlocking this skill means you received the prerequisites Pathfinder and Enkidu Acuity 1.

The tutorial description for the Emergency Aim skill from the Predator branch of the skill tree in AC Mirage.

5Emergency Aim

If you haven’t already learned in AC Mirage, stealth is the best way to go, and getting detected is not a fun experience, especially when those enemies swarm around you. This is a neat skill in those situations where you’re spotted by an enemy, and you may not have enough time to react by doing a rush assassination on them.

If you hold down the aim button on your controller, Emergency Aim will immediately lock onto the target that has detected you and allow you a quick response of using a throwing knife on them before they can alert others.

4Chain Assassination

When your focus bar is empty, however, and you find yourself in a bind with two enemies near each other, there’s always the Chain Assassination skill to the rescue. It takes the place of the original double hidden blade assassination that you’re used to.

When you approach to assassinate one enemy to eliminate them, the second right next to them will immediately have the button prompt to assassinate. And if they’re a little further apart from each other, this skill allows you to use a throwing knife for the second target, but only if you have some left in your inventory.

The tutorial description for the Counter Roll Skill in the Phantom Branch of the skill tree in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

3Counter Roll

The Counter Roll skill is pretty far down the Phantom branch of the skill tree, but it’ll be of amazing aid when you finally get to it. Those heavy attacks coming from red-highlighted enemies may often get the better of you in combat since they’re sometimes unpredictable, and you don’t know to expect a dodge or parry.

This skill offers a brilliant solution to the heavy attacks from enemies and gives you the advantage of defeating them. Instead of dodging the other way to avoid the blow, you can now perform a roll over the enemy’s back by dodging toward the incoming red attack to end up behind them, which is especially a good spot for getting hits in for armored foes.

The tutorial description for the Knife Recovery skill from the Trickster branch of the skill menu in Assassin’s Creed.

2Knife Recovery

Throwing knives areone of the most crucial toolsin your arsenal, and you’ll probably be using them quite frequently throughout the game. What you may run into is that you’re able to’t recover them from the bodies, even with the Auto-Collect unlocked to automatically loot fallen enemies.

Knife Recovery not only resolves this issue but provides one of the most overpowered skills in the game, never letting you run out of throwing knives and having to search for more. This becomes especially critical when you canupgrade the throwing knife to penetrate armored enemies, which leaves you with an almost unlimited supply to deal with all enemy types.

The tutorial description for the Extra Tool Capacity 3 skill in the Trickster branch of the skill tree in AC Mirage.

1Extra Tool Capacity 3

The Extra Tool Capacity nodes are something you should prioritize unlocking early on in the game. Tools are your most helpful allies in stealth and combat, and you’ll want to acquire as many as you’re able to to be better prepared for any challenge a quest may throw at you. These are also the only skills that can’t be reset, but why would you want to?

There are three tiers of the Extra Tool Capacity skills, and the final third one lets you get that third extra slot, meaning you will be able to equip five of the six total tools available, with smoke bombs, throwing knives, noisemakers, and blowdarts as some of your options.
