Players will return to Bright Falls, this time playing through the story of FBI agent Saga Anderson as well as Wake. The lead character is trapped in a dark, alternate dimension, somewhere to which he was presumably banished after the mysterious ending of the first game.

Alan Wake 2 got a new trailer atGamescom, the first one showing some Wake gameplay after the previous trailer had focused on Saga who finds the man after which the games are named right at the end. It seems the game will be split between Bright Falls and New York City with the Alan gameplay, or most of it, taking place in the latter.
