The lines between right and wrong are often blurred, and an ending that seems like the ideal resolution might be the most tragic one yet. It’s even possible to lose Astarion before reaching the climax of his arc. This guide aims to help you navigate the maze of possibilities and ensure you reach your ideal ending with Astarion.

All Possible Astarion Endings
Astarion is one of thefirst companionsyou can meet in the game. You can find himnear the Nautiloid crash site, by going through the hole in the crashed ship at (X:266, Y269), then following the path north until you see him crying out for help.
Astarion’s personal storyline also kicks into action early in the game, with some of his storyline events occurring within your first couple of long rests.

Should You Let Astarion Drink Your Blood
Early in the game, Astarion will attempt to secretly drink your bloodduring a long rest. You’llcatch him doing thisand learn his rather poorly-kept secret: he’s a vampire spawn.
From here on, you’ll be given the following options:
If you kill him or tell him to get lost, of course, this encounter has the possibility ofending Astarion’s storylineright then and there.
Otherwise, this event is one of the best opportunities towin some of the rogue’s notoriously-scarce favorduring Act One, especially if youplan on romancing Astarion. That said, if youfail a check here, you may alsofind yourself completely exsanguinatedby morning’s light.

Letting Astarion drink your blood here willenhance his combat abilityand permanently give him the Vampire Bite action. If Astarion’s an integral team member, it might be worth letting him have the occasional nibble.

Should You Give Astarion To Gandrel
Gandrel the Gur, found at(X:-26, Y:242) near Auntie Ethel’s Riverside Teahouse, is on a quest to hunt down Astarion. You’ll be faced with the following choices:
By eitherexposing Astarion’s identityordirecting Gandrel to your camp,Astarion will be taken away, ending his personal story andremoving him from your game permanently.
Siding against Gandrel will help yougain Astarion’s approvaland advance his personal story. Post-battle, Astarion willconfide in you about his tragic pastinvolving the Vampire Lord Cazador and speculate about Gandrel’s affiliation with Cazador.

Should You Tell Astarion To Bite Araj
In Act Two, you may encounter Araj Oblodra (X:-125, Y:-190), a drow scientist in the lower levels of Moonrise Towers.
She badlywants toget bittenby a vampireand will give you a potion granting apermanent +2 Strength boostin exchange.
Astarion, however, can sense that her blood is poisonous and does not want to debase himself like this. You’ll have the following choices:
Forcing Astarion to bite Araj here willstrain your relationshipwith him andrisk him leaving your party permanently, whereas respecting his wishes will lead to a cutscene in the next long rest thatexplores more of Astarion’s personal story.

What To Say To Astarion During Act Two Romance
If you areromancing Astarionand have ahigh approval rating with him, at some point during Act Two, he will approach you and confide in you hisdiscomfort with physical intimacydue to what he has had to do during his time enslaved by Cazador.
You’ll have the following options:

Should You Let Astarion Ascend
