While playingEndless Dungeon, you get to use various heroes each having a unique set of abilities. The experience of playing as a specific hero changes based on their abilities and the type of gun they use. However, this also leads to some characters providing far more value than others during a run.
This value can change depending on the difficulty you’re on since the amount of resources you get and the difficulty of enemy waves are affected by it. Keeping that in mind, you can still rank all the characters in a certain order based on their usefulness.

8Blaze
Blaze is one of the five units that you unlock only after youreach a specific Districtin the game. He specializes in area defense since he can place mines at various choke points. These mines explode upon enemy contact and deal damage to all the enemies in an area. With specific chips, they can also stun the enemies for a few seconds.
However, the reason for Blaze being the lowest-ranked character is the mechanics of these mines. They get activated when an enemy is quite far away, which leads to scenarios where you only hit a couple of enemies most of the time. However, they can still be great if you actively place them on top of a group of enemies.

7Zed
Zed is one of the free characters that you meet during the tutorial, and she’s quite a phenomenal DPS during the early game. All her abilities are based around lowering the enemy’s defense and dealing a ton of damage to them. However, she starts becoming less useful as you progress in the game.
Her boring play style adds to this since she has the most generic chip set that gives her simple boosts. This hero also relies on defeating enemies to get a damage boost, which is not always possible since you’ll mostly be around a ton of turrets and other heroes.

6Cartie
Cartie is the archive manager in Endless Dungeon who loves learning about the various Districts and monsters in the game. She’s also quite decent in combat, albeit not the best choice compared to other heroes. Cartie’s Skill traps all the enemies in a certain area, stuns them, and deals a decent amount of damage.
Her Ultimate is arguably the most fun to use since you can just roll around dealing damage to the enemies. However, even with a special attack that she provides to the Crystal Bot while in the same room, she can feel a little lacking during the late game.

5Shroom
If you’ve played Endless Dungeon for a while, you’ll realize that healing is difficult to come by since you have to spend 20 Food to get one medkit after finding a station. You also get a bit of healing at the end of each wave, but it’s not nearly enough on higher difficulties since enemies deal quite a lot of damage.
Shroom is the only character that can heal herself and other party members during a run. You simply have to put her in a room with the wave spawner so that she can stack up on Souls and then head over to her whenever your characters need a heal.

4Sweeper
The main character of the game, or at least the character you get to use first, Sweeper is a support-type unit that excels at slowing down and stalling enemy waves while the turrets and other team members in the room eliminate them. This can be extremely useful, especially against enemies that are too fast for your turrets.
Apart from that, he also increases the fire rate of the turrets in the room, which is the main source of your damage. Ideally, you’d want to place Sweeper in an area that connects two wave spawners with a bunch of turrets in it. This will make it nearly impossible for enemies to go past it.

Don’t place Sweeper in a room with Blur-type spawners since some of them can go invisible and escape the area.
3Bunker
The third and the final free hero in Endless Dungeon, Bunker is a tank character that can stall nearby monsters while also entering an invulnerable state during her Ultimate. This state attracts nearby monsters toward her while she doesn’t take any damage from them, making it perfect for handling overwhelming waves.
Bunker can also increase her damage while taking damage from the enemy, which synergizes well with her kit. You’d want to keep Bunker near the Crystal Bot and use her Ultimate if a bunch of enemies are reaching the bot from different directions.

2Fassie
Fassie is quite a late-game character since you can only unlock him afterreaching the Headquarters area. He’s the bartender of Endless Dungeon, which also makes his kit revolve around the Spiciness effect. He gains Spiciness and Wit based on the enemies per room. The former effect is used to buff his allies while the latter increases the repair amount on turrets.
However, the ability that puts him in the second spot is his Ultimate. As you get to the deeper Districts, there will be plenty of instances where your Crystal Bot gets swarmed with enemies. This character can make these enemies attack each other while your allies and turrets also work on destroying them.

1Comrade
Comrade easily takes the crown of the best hero in Endless Dungeon since he has everything you need to beat the game. With his Skill, you’re able to place your own turrets (up to three with chips) at any location. You can also replace them instantly, which essentially gives you three turrets for free from the start of the round.
Not only that, he can also turn into a giant turret himself and defeat almost every enemy in a single shot with his Ultimate, which is perfect for defending the Crystal Bot. Finally, the best part of his kit is the ability to repair the Resource Generators with just one Shove.
