Friendship in Fae Farm is a little different from in other games of its ilk, though, with restrictions on who actually forms a relationship with you throughout your time in Azoria. In this guide, we’re taking a look at everything that relates to friendliness in Fae Farm.

Fae Farm Friendships, Explained

In the very first chapter of Fae Farm, part of your introduction to Azoria is being tasked withintroducing yourself to the townsfolk. Mayor Merritt will send you to a few specific people, but there are plenty more friends to find.

Anyone you speak with will appear in theRelationships tab, which is thephoto of two peoplein the top-right corner of the pause menu.

Here, you can seeevery friendable NPCand thecurrent status of your relationshipwith them. This tab also denoteseveryone’s birthday, to help you deliver gifts on the right days.

For the most part,friendship advances by speaking to each townsperson once per day. You don’t have to actually engage them in any chat, but simplystopping to say hellowill reward you with a friendship boost.

You can tell when yourfriendship has increasedwith someone when you seesmiley faces and plus signsabove their head when you speak.

You’ll alsosee thestatus of your relationship displayed above their namein the text box.

And as your relationship improves, you’ll also seedifferent levels of friendship over the character’s heads. This declares that your relationship has moved up another level.

There’s actually aquest from Frida at the Innin the earliest days of the game, in which she tasks you withmaking at least one friendin exchange for some sweet early-game Florins.

This friend can be anybody from town, so long as your status is set toFriendswhen you return to Frida.

If any NPC has ayellow exclamation or question markover their head, they’ve got aquest to give you.

You haveone dayto find the item they’d like, and doing so willboost your friendshipa bit more for that day, so stop by for a chat if you have the time!

You Can’t Make Friends With Shopkeepers

Merritt explains thatmerchants in Central Town are too busy to maintain relationships. This means that, while you’ll be speaking to them fairly often, there’s not a friendship mechanic for them, and they won’t appear in yourRelationshipstab.

Igni over in the Mountain seems to be the exception to this rule.

Unfortunately, this also means thatyou can’t date shopkeepersin any region of Azoria.
