In a game likeThe Sims 4where socializing, making friends, and falling in love are central to the gameplay, it’s easy to want to take a shortcut sometimes when it comes to your Sims 4 relationships. And while it normally takes a bit to make friends, there are cheat codes that allow you to bypass chit-chat altogether.

In this guide, we’ve rounded up all of The Sims 4 relationships cheats that we know, including cheats for changing your platonic and romantic relationships between Sims, and even a cheat to help nudge your Sims closer to their pets as well.

Sims 4 Relationships, Explained

When playing The Sims 4, your Sim will spend plenty of timebuilding relationshipswith other Sims - it’s one of the backbones of the series!

And with so many unique Sims across somany varied worldsover the years, you’ll findall the relationship infoabout your Sim in therelationships panelof your UI.

Here, you’ll find a portrait image ofevery Sim you’ve ever interacted withas that particular Sim - whether that’s your soulmate or a stranger you met out in the world, you’ll find them here in your relationship panel.

Sims withhigher relationships appear at the top, thankfully, so you won’t be sifting forever to find your Sim’s immediate family or closest friends.

Relationships in The Sims 4 are measured by two metrics - there’s afriendship meterthat tracks any platonic relationship, and aromance meterbelow it for Sims you’ve spent some time flirting with as well.

All Sims will have a friendship meter, while romance meters are limited to the Sims you’ve been flirting with. Even romantic prospects have friendship meters, though, and both can advance through different interactions.

Sims also haverelationships with their pets, if you have any of the animal-centric packs installed (likeCats and Dogs, orHorse Ranch, for example).

Depending on differentsexual orientation settingsfor each Sim, you can typically flirt with awide variety of other Sims, but just beware that with this update, not everyone will be as receptive as they were before.

you may also enter a Sim’s profile for more relationship information, such as thenature of the relationship(whether it’s a family member, a soulmate, a stranger, etc.), thecurrent happinessof the relationship, and any pertinentmemoriesbetween the two Sims.

There are certain packs that change relationships as well, such asfamily dynamicsadded in the Growing Together expansion, or additional traits from relationships with children inParenthood.

While different Sims prefer different interactions depending on their traits and your relationship with them, in general,kind interactions boost relationships, while, on the other hand,mean or mischievous interactions can lower them, some pretty dramatically.

Each socialization impacts your Sims' relationships, and just like real life,relationships deplete over time, so check in often with friends and family to keep them close.

But, say you don’t want to do things the organic way - you don’t want to invest the time, or something went wrong, or maybe a Sim has become a little too flirty with your married Sim.

Friendship Cheats

modifyrelationship [YourSim’sFirstName] [YourSimLastName] [TargetSimFirstName] [TargetSimLastName] X LTR_Friendship_Main

By replacing the X with a numeric value from -100 to 100, you can adjust two Sims' friendships.

modifyrelationship [YourSimFirstName] [YourSimLastName] [TargetPetFirstName] [TargetPetLastName] XLTR_SimtoPet_Friendship_Main

By replacing the X with a numeric value from -100 to 100, you can adjust the relationship between a controlled Sim and their pet.

relationships.create_friends_for_sim

Creates new Sims that already have some degree of friendship with your Sim, and adds them to your relationship panel.

relationship.introduce_sim_to_all_others

Adds all your neighbors to your Sim’s relationship panel, now that they’ve “met.”

Romance Cheats

modifyrelationship [YourSimFirstName] [YourSimLastName] [TargetSimFirstName] [TargetSimLastName] X LTR_Romance_Main

By replacing the X with a numeric value from -100 to 100, you can adjust the romantic relationship for two Sims. If there isn’t one already, one will be created for them at the value you’ve set.

With these Sims 4 relationship cheats, no more will you have to take the time to flirt before falling in love, or making up for what you’ve done after hurting someone - simply enter one of the above Sims relationship cheats, and your Sims' relationships are yours to control.
