The game offers avisual difference between shrines you’ve done and new shrines, thankfully!

You Don’t Have To Complete Shrines To Use Them As Warp Points

Since there are so many shrines in Tears of the Kingdom spread far and wide across Hyrule, you’ll soon find the merit inusing shrines as warp pointsas you play on.

A shrine will bemarked on your map of Hyruleas soon as youget close enough to it to trigger the name appearing on your screen, which is typically when you see agreen circleappear at the front of the shrine.

At this point, the shrine location is marked on your map. It will befully orange, to denote that ithasn’t been activated yet.

Toactivate a shrine, you need tointeract with the green circle. This opens the shrine challenge, turning the symbol on your mappartially blue around the outside, but you’ll notice thatthe middle is still orange.

After a shrine has been activated, you can fast travel thereby selecting the shrine icon on your map and selecting"Travel."

While it’s definitely helpful to do so,you don’t have to do shrines as soon as you find them. Maybe you’re in the middle of a quest and don’t want to interrupt yourself, or you’re sprinting to unlock everything before diving into the thick of the game.

Aftercompleting all 152 shrinesin Tears of the Kingdom, the message you receive from Rauru and Sonia will be slightly different.

They tell you it’s your last shrine challenge, and because you’ve completed them all, they direct you tothe Temple of Time on Great Sky Island, where a reward is waiting.

Go inside the Temple of Timeonce you arrive - the fastest way to do so is by warping to Ukouh Shrine just southwest of the Temple itself.

Once inside, use recall on the cogs to get to the second level.

And finally, after you’re up here, you’ll see theGoddess Statue- your reward is waiting ina treasure chest just behind the Statue.

Inside, you’ll find theAncient Hero’s Aspect, which “is said to contain the spirit of a hero who once saved Hyrule.”

Thisone-piece armor changes your entire appearancewhen worn, and though itstarts with12 defense, you canupgrade the armorto a staggering84 defense when fully upgraded.
