Lies of Pis a difficult game, as you’d expect from a game with heavy Sekiro and Bloodborne influences. The enemies can be brutally aggressive, the Perfect Block system requires precision, and many of the stats you’re confronted with when you head to the Level Up menu are not well-explained at all.

Understanding what these stats mean is key to making the game easier for yourself. With knowledge of every stat and how they contribute to your survival and success, you’re able to better alter your build and equipment plans to secure victory in battle, especially against the more difficult bosses in the game.
All Stats, Explained
There are a bunch of stats to keep track of in Lies of P, and they are not always that well-explained. You havesix default stats, six common abilities, and a whole host of defensive statsthat you can improve either through levelling up or with certain equipment choices.
Default Abilities
These are the main sources of your other stats in the game - they dictate your build and what you can do effectively. These arethe stats that you increase directly via Levelling Upwith Ergo by talking to Sophia at Hotel Krat.
There are also some pieces of equipment that provide static boosts to these stats, as long as you have them equipped.

Explanation
Vitality
Increasing your Vitality will also give you aboost to your Health and your Guard Regain. Needless to say, it is important to keep your Vitality high - more health and better blocking ability is key to surviving the longer, tougher fights without a heavy reliance on Perfect Blocks and precise dodging.
Vigor
Vigor is tied only to yourStamina. Increasing your Stamina will let you sprint for longer and make longer attack chains. The latter is very important when your strategy revolves around staggering your opponents with a flurry or repeated attacks.
Capacity
Increasing your Capacity will increase not only yourWeight statbut yourLegion. Since the better pieces of equipment and weapons are very heavy, the majority of builds in the game will benefit greatly from increased Capacity. Staying under 60% of your maximum Weight in terms of equipment weight is crucial to conserving your Stamina and keeping your movement speed at a reasonable level.
Motivity
Motivity is one of the three stats thatdictate your attack strength. Weapons will have a certain level ofscaling with Motivity- the higher the scaling, the more an increased Motivity stat will benefit them. Motivity is associated with slower, heavier weapons.
Think of Motivity as the game’s version of other games’Strength stat.
Technique
Technique is one of the three stats thatdictate your attack strength. Weapons will have a certain level ofscaling with Technique- the higher the scaling, the more an increased Technique stat will benefit them. Technique weapons tend to be light and fast, like the rapier you can get at the start of the game.
Think of Technique as the game’s version of other games’Dexterity stat.
Advance
Like Motivity and Technique, Advance is a stat that can contribute to aweapon’s damage outputand will be tied to ascaling statbut is rarer than the previous stats, usually being limited to elemental weapons. Advance also increases Legion, which will let you use your Legion Arms more often before needing to be refilled.
Think of Advance as this game’s version of other games’Intelligence or Magic stat.
In addition to their main uses detailed in the table above, increasing any of these stats will also have a slight impact on your defences and status resistances, as detailed below.
Thanks to the ability toalter the handlesof your weapons usingCranks, you don’t necessarily have to discount weapons that don’t align with your chosen build.
Weapons don’t have stat requirements, and if you feel yourself drawn to a particular weapon, you canchange its stat scaling to suit your build.
Common Abilities
As with the default stats, you have six common abilities that aredictated mostly by those default stats. They are mostly self-explanatory.
HP
HP, or hit points, are drained when you’re attacked. If you lose all of your HP, you’ll dieand be reset back to the last Stargazer you rested at.
Stamina
Stamina is used to sprint and use weapons, with heavier attacks draining more Stamina. Stamina replenishes when you’re not sprinting or currently attacking.
Legion
Legion is a resource you use to utilise Legion Arms. The more Legion you have, the more times you’ll be able to use your Legion Arm before you have to replenish it with items or resting.
Weight
Your weight is displayed as two numbers - the first is thesum of the weight of all your equipment, and the second is yourmaximum weight. If the former number is below 60% of the latter, you’ll be able to move at your normal speed, but the higher it gets, the slower you’ll get. If your current weight exceeds your maximum, you won’t be able to move at all.
Fable Slot
Fable Slots are used to execute Fable Arts, which are tied to your weapons. You can acquire more Fable Slots via P-Organ upgrades.
Guard Regain
Guard Regain is a measure of how much health you can regain by attacking an enemy after taking reduced damage by guarding. This is depicted as a grey section of your health bar which fills back up when you attack. Guard Regain fades over time, encouraging you to be more aggressive.
Defensive Stats
Your defensive stats are more malleable than the other stats detailed in this guide -they are heavily affected by your equipment, only gaining slight boosts from levelling up your default stats.
Description
Physical
This stat tells youhow resistant you are to non-elemental damage. As there is no status effect associated with physical damage, it doesn’t have a Resistance stat.
Framesare the main way to boost this stat, butConverters and Cartridgesalso have an effect on physical damage reduction.
Fire
These stats tell youhow resistant you are to these three elemental damage types. In addition to damage reduction, these stats also dictatehow resistant you are to the various status ailmentsthat are associated with the damage types.
Acid
Disruption
These three stats tell youhow resistant you are to these status ailmentsand nothing else, as there are no damage types associated with them - only specific attacks.
Break
Slash
These stats tell youhow resistant you are to these damage types. These types are independent of the elements described above - an attack can be Strike and Physical, or Strike and Electric Blitz, for example. If you are struggling with a certain enemy that uses lots of attacks of a single type, it may be worth finding equipment that boosts these stats specifically.
