Over the years, FromSoftware has managed to garner a rather dedicated modding community, which has been displaying its talents across theDark Soulsseries and a number of other soulslike titles for a while now. That means thatArmored Core 6’srecent launch has exposed more modders to the series than ever before, so we shouldn’t be surprised that they’ve already set about trying to make the game as disturbing as possible less than 24 hours after release.
The mod in question has removed the customizable AC you get to pilot in Armored Core 6, and has replaced it with a horrifyingly twisted version of CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This absolute abomination comes from a recent YouTube video uploaded by Dropoff, and was made in collaboration with fellow modderTKGP.

You’ll be pleased to know that this video doesn’t simply show off the model and leave it at that. Instead, Dropoff takes the mecha CJ out on one of the game’s earlier missions to take down an enemy AC, much to the utter horror of the corporations on Rubicon. We can see from the beginning of the mission that the mod doesn’t go as far as to strap weapons to CJ’s body, as shoulder attachments are simply floating in the air behind him. This does imply that mecha CJ has psychic powers though, which is a much more terrifying prospect.
While this mode is very creepy and slightly impressive, you’ll be surprised to know that this isn’t the first time CJ has been twisted into horrible shapes for a mod. The poor guy has a history of being modded into titles he has no business being involved in, even if the main character isn’t human. You may recall that back when Stray first launched (the adorable little game from Annapurna Interactive that let you play as a cat), moddersimmediately set about making CJ’s cat form, and the results were pretty disturbing to say the least.
Thankfully, it doesn’t seem as though there’s a way to download this mode for yourself. Neither Dropff or TKGP appear to have shared a link to the mod or uploaded it to any sites such as Nexus Mods, so this short video will have to do. We should be grateful really, it’s already inflicted enough psychic damage as it is.
If this video has somehow sold you on Armored Core 6 and you want to know more about the game before you going diving into Rubicon yourself, you cancheck out our review here. Just don’t expect any GTA protagonists to show up in the vanilla game.
