This building crawls withguards,archers, andarmored guards; so entering it via stealth requires planning and strategy. However, there are a few key locations through which Basim can creep into the Damascus Gate Prison andassassinate the target.
How To Enter Damascus Gate Prison
Damascus Gate Prison is a very large building withguards circling gates, and patrolling various levels of walls- stopping Basim anywhere near the location. Going in from thefront dooris a lost cause, asarmored guardson the ground andarcherson the roof will nail you down in no time.
Luckily, we have found thatclimbing the southwest tower of the Damascus Gate Prison buildingoffers easy access to infiltrate the building.This route also ensures you remain undetectedand does not attract unwanted attention.
To ascend the southwest tower, climb the far end wall of Damascus Gate Prison and assassinate or distract the one guard posted there. After that, clear access to the building through this tower will be possible.
Having climbed the tower, your next move should be toreach the rooftop at the opposite endof Damascus Gate Prison. This is easily achieved if you keep shimmying along the wall’s edge and avoid vaulting over it.
Severalguards will be seen patrolling the upper levelof Damascus Gate Prison, along with a few taking turns at therooftop. It is a bad idea to vault over the edge and try to take out a few of them. Instead,keep moving over until you reach a point withcascaded wooden boxeswith a guard leaning over them.
Once you have reached this point,check the movement patterns of thetwo guards. You can time the vaulting over movement accordingly so thatneither of the guards notice you.
Two rooftops offer a clear overview of Damascus Gate Prison. The first one is dangerous as an archer and armored guard are posted there. The far-end rooftop is empty, and reaching it should be a priority before finding prisoner cell keys.
How To Get The Prison Cell Keys
Getting keys and liberating prisonersfrom the cells found at the lower levels of Damascus Gate Prison is the contractor’s request for the State Official contract. For that, the priority should be onfinding the guard with the keys.
UsingEnkiduwill quickly reveal which guard inside the Damascus Gate Prison holds the Prisoner cell keys.
Afterclimbing thecascaded wooden boxes, as we mentioned above,go to the far edge of it and use Enkiduto spot the guard with keys. He usually patrols this location, so landing an air assassination at this point is unmissable.
How To Free The Prisoners
Taking out the armored guard will get you three keysthat will be used to free three prisoners located at theground levelof Damascus Gate Prison. Justgo straight after assassinating the guardwith keys,then take a right, and you will find the first prisoner cell. Free him and go further down the level, and you will have two more prisoner cells here to open.
The State Official will mostly be seen outside the prison and among the civilians. However, he sometimes patrols the prison area. If you liberate the prisoners, they will automatically attack the State Official, regardless of location.
How To Kill State Official
There aremultiple ways to assassinate the State Officialand complete the contract.
If youfree the prisoners, they will attack the State Officialand possibly kill him. If you do not free the prisoners, you need to kill the high-value target on your own without the prisoners' distraction or aid.
Prisoners can be liberated from cellseven after killingthe State Official. However, freeing them beforehand willbring the attention of all guards to prisonersonly, and you will have a clear shot of taking down the State Official bystealth approachor fighting side by side with the prisoners and killing the high-value target.
In terms of approaches,throwing a knifewhile aiming at hisheadwill kill him instantly, but for this, you need to getclose to him. Alternatively, you will always have an opportunity tothrow multiple knivesat the State Official from thebalconywhere you killed anarmored guardwithcell keys.
Killing the State Official solo without raising the alarm can be achieved byusing the Smoke Bombs when the target is visiting the prisoner cellsarea and is not wandering outside among civilians.
Another method will be toget into combat, fight the State Official and his personal guards, and kill them all.This will result in completing the contract’s task, and youmust escape the Damascus Gate Prison for the mission to end.
How To Escape Damascus Gate Prison After Killing The State Official
The primary objective is tokill the State Officialin Damascus Gate Prison and escape. Thiscan be achieved without fulfilling the contractor’s request,which further shortens the mission’s length.
Once the State Official is killed,escape through the rooftopyou came in after assassinating the guard with keys. After dropping down from the rooftop,a zipline will be at the far end of Damascus Gate Prison.Take it; you will exit the prison without a guard’s trail. This will conclude the State Official contract in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
