Yes, you read that right - disappearing willies.Baldur’s Gate 3players are warning others that their characters might not have the private parts they intended, as a quirk in the character creator screen is resetting everyone’s genitalia without their knowledge.
Alas, if you swap subraces at any point during character creation, all of your time spent going through the various penis options (up to five, in some cases) is all for nought. Without telling you, the game has just put you back to the “default” downstairs parts, which might be a vulva, not a dick, as some are now learning the hard way.

This comes to us courtesy ofReddituser Urkelli. Mid-game, they were shocked to discover that their dwarf’s penis was missing in action. They say this is due to an oversight in the character creator, which is supposed to save your customisation options when you swap subrace, in case you change your mind and want to go back to the previous one you were working on. However, it won’t save your penis option, reverting to the default.
For science, I tested this myself and also found it to be the case. After messing around with some customisation options for a high elf, I then swapped to a wood elf, then back again. Sure enough, everything else I had done to the high elf was fine, keeping the same hairstyle, face preset, etc - just missing the penis I selected. Penis D, if you must know.
It’s not really clear why this is the case, but given how every other customisation option stays behind, it’s likely that the genital mishap is an oversight. To avoid it, all you have to do is double-check that your dong is still intact by the time you’re ready to start your game, otherwise you might be dickless for the whole playthrough.
Understandably, the replies to the original Reddit post are mainly focussing on how funny the concept of losing your penis is, rather than how unfortunate it is.
“Most of the time my penis disappears it’s Karlachs fault if you know what I mean,” says user Great-Parsley-7359. I think we can figure out what they mean.
“I didn’t read the subreddit at first and I was really concerned,” replies KimTailsDemon96. Admittedly, if this were to happen in real life, you should probably seek medical advice outside of Reddit.
At least the warning comes to us before the console launch, where a bunch more players will join in on the fun. This is set for September 6, when Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available onPS5. AnXboxlaunch is expected at a later date.
