Baldur’s Gate 3introduces you to a diverse cast of characters that have a range of skilled suited for every situation. Unfortunately for them, they also live in a world based onDungeons & Dragons, with a certain someone that allows players to change their classes whenever they like. While most of you will probably have left the gang content with their starting class, there are some that drag them out of their comfort zones and force them to have classes very unbefitting of their character.

You can even turn every single companion into a Barbarian if you so choose, which is exactly what one player did to find out what their Barbarian roars sound like. Sure enough, developer Larian Studios somehow accounted for each character possibly being turned into a Barbarian, including characters like Gale and Astarion, and has actually given every single companion a couple of unique Barbarian roars, though some are a lot more intimidating than others.

Twitter user Roach Spice attempted to find as many roars as they could, and has showcased them all in one brief but brilliant video. As you might expect, more intimidating and commanding characters like Shadowheart and Lae’zal let out a full blown roar, while Wyll is a bit more half-hearted about it, but it’s a passabel roar. I wouldn’t like to try and fight a man that scream at me that way at the very least.

Then you have Astarion, who despite being quite suave and sophisticated, lets out a pretty impressive scream that would make most people flinch in a fight. However, it seems as though Astarion has a second roar that’s a bit more in character, letting out an almost feral growl that makes him sound like a little gremlin rather than a hot-headed Barbarian.

We then get to Gale, and if you thought that Astarion screaming at the top of his lungs was a little silly, it seems as though everyone’s favorite horned up wizard didn’t quite get the memo that he was supposed to be a Barbarian. You can hear him right at the beginning of the video, going into a Barbarian rage and then making a noise that sounds like he stubbed his toe on the side of a coffee table.

Even if they do have questionable screams, it’s another neat little detail that Larian has managed to add that takes every possible player action into account. They could have simply given everyone a generic scream depending on their gender, but it seems as though the extra effort is greatly appreciated by fans, and now I get to have Gale’s little scream as my text alert on my phone.
