Baldur’s Gate 3had a heartbreaking bug until today - the romance scenes weren’t naughty enough. For some reason, the game was ignoring players who had toggled nudity to be on in the settings, giving us more modest sex scenes than we were promised. Now, this has been fixed, as the latest hotfix strips everyone down to nothing, just as intended.
No longer will everyone awkwardly dry hump until we get a fade to black. No, now the scenes look like actual stuff is happening, a nice little treat for those of us down bad for our campmates. Of course, you can still toggle the nudity off, if that’s not your thing. But those of us who want to see the whole thing now can, as the scenes should work as intended.
This comes courtesy ofHotfix 9, which went live across all platforms a few hours ago. So, if you don’t want every inch of the Baldur’s Gate 3 cast up in your face, verify you have the nudity option turned off. Otherwise, you’ll be in for a bit of a jumpscare should you take things to the next level with your partner.
It doesn’t seem that many of us had noticed the bug - I just thoughtKarlachwas feeling a little shy during our romance scene - so it’s good to see it was spotted regardless, and is now fixed. So, bone away. Go wild. There’s nothing getting in the way of the fun anymore, quite literally.
Although, if you’re streaming the game, you should probably make sure there is something in the way. I’m not sureTwitch’s terms of conditions will be very forgiving there. Let’s avoid having another drama like when streamers didn’t realise the “hide clothes” option would hideallclothes, yeah?
Other than this, the hotfix is about what you’d expect. Some common crashes should be addressed, to help you stay in the game, and there have been improvements to multiplayer.
Outside of gameplay, the hotfix also lets us change our name byusing the recently added magic mirror at camp, leaving our race as pretty much the only thing we’re stuck with. You can even play around with that by using Disguise Self, albeit temporarily. Similarly, the magic mirror can also be used by hirings now, so you can build a team that slays. You still can’t customise your other companions, but this would be much harder to implement, given that they use custom assets not available in the character creator. Hey, maybe one day. Let me put makeup on Astarion, pleaseLarian.
