How To Set Up The Franchise

If you aren’t fond of the extra bells and whistles, at the very least we recommend usingSkills, Tasks, and Morale and Chemistry.
Turning Skills on will give you access to aSkill Tree that will give your players attributes boosts or ways to improve the team.
For Tasks, the CFO will give you a goal to achieve in the season which can help boost your status as the general manager.
Throughout the season, themood of your players can shiftif they aren’t receiving ample playing time or if the team suffers. This can positively or negatively impact their performance on the court.
How To Adjust Your Team
Once you’ve decided on the framework of the league, you’ll have to select your team. You can view teams in theDetailed viewthat shows theOverall, Offense, and Defense team ratings. It will also show the full roster with each player’s skills and contract information.
After you’ve selected the team, you’ll want todownload a draft class from the communityfor the most realistic franchise experience.
Depending on how much money you have, you can access theChange Staffsection and review any holes in your coaching staff or front office to improve your team. Candidates for these roles will have apercentage that reflects their interest in joining your teamwhich can help in negotiations.
You can adjust the team’s game plan and allocation of minutes eitherseparately by team or for the entire league. NBA 2K24 will show a suggested amount and abar graphthat shows the minutes allocation per position.
Coaches will have specific systems that they will want to deploy but you can adjust the system to anything you like. You’ll see theoverall system proficiency in a five-star rating systemand how the five players on the court will adjust to the system. Each system will provide a description of it with positives and negatives.

MyNBA has a mentorship feature where you canassign a veteran player to mentor another player and pass along their badge progress. After you have the pair, you’ll select up tothree badgesthat you want to pass on to the younger player.

Your scouts will automatically gain information about prospects which will help determine your draft strategy. You can scout specific players or near-draft positions and usemock draftsto get an idea of how the draft will go.
You can select an attribute you’d like each player to focus on improving and if they’ve performed well, they will receive a boost in that category.
When surveying the league for trade targets, you can swiftly get a sense of each team’s goals in theTeam Intelsection.
There will be a bullet-point breakdown of whether the team isBuying or Rebuilding, if there are any players that the team is targeting, players they want to trade off their roster, and expiring contracts for salary cap purposes.
What To Do During Offseason
Once the season is over, there’s still work to be done to maintain success with your franchise. The first major event is preparing for the NBA Draft. You will haveaccess to the prospects’ results from the NBA Draft Combine as well as the Pre-Draft Workoutsto gain more information before the NBA Draft.
During the draft, you can either move forward with drafting a promising rookie or you can elect to trade the pick. However, it’sbest to draft young playersto keep cheap talent to help fill out your roster.
There are only two rounds in the NBA Draft so be sure to utilize the draft picks.
Finding success in the free agent market is another key part of the offseason. The Moratorium period lasts forthree daysand during this period you may get free agents to verbally agree to a contract.
However, if you’re playing with budgets activated, you will have alimited amount of funds to spend depending on your cap space.
Players with Cap Holds are placeholders on the team’s cap sheet to prevent the team from having to go over the salary cap to sign their own free agents by using their Bird Rights.
The main free agency period lasts for12 daysand the leftover players who did not sign in the Moratorium period will be available.
If you have a team with a tight salary cap, you can focus on theaffordable free agents. Once the free agency period is over, you’ll be able to review how yourteam progressed, either positively or negatively, during the offseason.
After you’ve finished filling out your roster, it’s time to complete another season of your franchise.
