Nico Minoru is an incredibly versatile card inMarvel Snapthat can fit into tons of different decks and playstyles. When played, she casts a random spell of seven that changes each turn, allowing you to alter the flow of battle in your favor or plan for future turns.
While she isn’t a core card on her own, meaning you’re able to’t exactly build a deck around her, Nico Minoru can fit into plenty of other decks thanks to her versatile spells. Below, we’ll take a look at how to use Nico in a variety of situations, and a few decks she performs well in.

Nico Minoru Spell Effects
Nico Minoru is a 1-Cost, 2-Power card that has the following effect: “On Reveal: After you play your next card, cast a spell. (The spell changes each turn.)”.
What this means is that each turn, Nico Minoru’s effect willchange to one of seven options. Each of her spells are detailed below.

On Reveal: After you play your next card, it becomes a Demon.
On Reveal: After you play your next card, destroy it and draw two cards.

On Reveal: After you play your next card, move it one location to the right.
On Reveal: After you play your next card, give it +2 Power.

On Reveal: After you play your next card, replace that card’s location.
On Reveal: After you play your next card, add a copy of it to your hand.
On Reveal: After you play your next card, double this card’s Power.
Keep in mind that the order that the spells change is random, meaning you won’t be able to predict the next spell.
As you can probably guess, Nico’s spells can fit into several different decks, where she willalmost always be a valuable addition. Below, we’ll take a look at three of the best deck-types for Nico, where her spells truly shine.
Nico And Thanos Deck
Nico Minoru is a great addition to the tried and trueThanos deck/playstyle. She can provide this deck with tons of value through her various spells, especially the ones that destroy the card to draw two more, turn it into a demon, or add a copy of a card.
The decklist below is a very strongThanos Control deck, using Professor X to lock down a location early with either Psylocke or the Time Stone. Nico providesutility or extra Powerwith her spells, while Elsa provides extra Power by filling up locations with the Infinity Stones.

Nico Destroy Deck
Nico Minoru fits extremely well into the destroy archetype, perhaps even better than she does in Thanos decks. Most, if not all, of her spells can provide value in this deck type.
You candestroy Deadpool to draw more cardswhile still buffing Deadpool, move a high Power card to a locked-down locationlike Death or Knull, replace unfavorable locations, orgrant Deadpool more Powerthat is then doubled when he is destroyed.
Below you may find a fairly standard destroy decklist using Nico Minoru.
When this is destroyed, return it to your hand with double the Power.
When this is discarded or destroyed, regenerate it at a random location and you get +1 Energy next turn.
On Reveal: Destroy your other cards here. +2 Power for each destroyed.

Costs 1 less for each card destroyed this game.
The general playstyle of this deck is very simple. Destroy Deadpool using Killmonger or Carnage for the initial buffs, then use Venom when Deadpool has higher Power. Finally, you canclose out the game with Knull and Deathon separate locations, and even play Deadpool on turn six if you destroyed X-23 on the previous turn.
Forge and Hulkbuster, along with Nico’s spell that gives a card +2 Power are used tobuff up your Deadpool. These cards arebest used as soon as possibleon Deadpool to increase the value of doubling his Power when destroyed.
Nico Minoru essentially helps you do all of these things better. For this deck, her best spells are the destroy to draw two cards, gain a copy of a card, and give a card +2 Power. Still, her other spells can work wonders as well, as we’ve touched on above.
Nico Bounce Deck
Finally, we have the Bounce archetype, which, surprising no one, Nido Minoru fits exceptionally well into.
By using cards like Falcon and Beast toreturn Nico to your hand, you can get additional value from her spells. This is paired with Elsa and Angela torepeatedly gain additional Powerfrom their effects, allowing you to drop tons of Power on the board at once for relatively low Cost.

When this returns to your hand, +1 Power. Returns at the start of each turn.
On Reveal: Set the Power of all cards in your hand to 3.
As you play this, play illusions to other locations. Disguise this as an Illusion until the game ends.
On Reveal: Gain +2 Power for each other card you played this turn.
On Reveal: Return your other cards at this location to your hand. They cost 1 less.
The general idea of this deck is to use buffing cards,Forge, Angela, Elsa, and Bishop, early, gaining Power by repeatedly playing Kitty and returning cards to your hand with Falcon and Beast. Then, on the final turn, you’ll be able to drop lots of Power at several locations through Kitty, Hit Monkey, and The Hood’s Demon.
Every one of Nico’s spells works well in this deck, as she is able to buff cards, destroy cards like Forge or Bast to draw more or turn them into Demons, move Bishop to inaccessible locations, replace unfavorable locations, and more. The possibilities are endless, and Nico takes this deck from good to great, especially with careful consideration of her spells.
