12Undyne - Undertale
Undyne leads the Royal Guard inUndertale, and your route changes howher boss battleplays out. Her ferocity is clear even after befriending her in the True Pacifist route. So it’s surprising when she asks you to deliver her love letter to Dr. Alphys, but she sorts that out when Alphys goes on a date with you by mistake.
Somehow, the love confession ends up with the doctor in a trashcan despite Undyne returning her feelings, but that’s on brand for this quirky soldier. Her oddly keen insight helps Alphys work on her low self-esteem with support from Papyrus.

11Summer - Spiritfarer
There are lots of heavy feelings inSpiritfarer, being about death. Summer has a bittersweet story that takes her from a chemical-ridden corporate farm to meeting her soulmate after moving away to recover from breast cancer.
Rose, her partner, is an aunt to the main character, Stella. This lesbian couple shared plenty of wonderful memories in their home. Summer planted a garden just for her and Rose, and she got more in touch with nature by being with Rose. Stella looked after Summer in her second battle with cancer, which inspired Stella to become a nursein this heartwrenching game.

10Claire Higsby - Super Lesbian Animal RPG
There can never be enoughgood trans representation, and Claire Higsby brings up queer intersectionality as a trans lesbian. She is described in-game as a wild card and lives up to that reputation with a bold personality that borders on reckless.
It’s a delightful touch that her design includes the colors from the trans pride flag, and seeing her go from sassy with friends to more civil around others gives depth to her character. Plus, she’s a bit feral with some disregard for the rules. You won’t always know what to expect from Claire—and that’s the fun of her.

9Sera - Dragon Age: Inquisition
While she’s not the most beloved character fromDragon Age: Inquisition, she does have her charms. Sera brings an “eat the rich” energy to the main cast that has aged very well. Some struggle with her playing pranks and dodging any serious subject, but this impish archer still rounds off the Inner Circle.
Whether youromance heror she ends up with Dagna, the dwarven arcanist of the Inquisition, Sera has loads of love to share. She comes up with cute nicknames like Widdle for Dagna and even sketches her smiling. Sera won’t show it, necessarily, but she’s a sap.

8Heather - Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
From a sequel in theFire Emblemseries, Radiant Dawn (which comes after Path of Radiance), Heather is a self-serving and often rude thief who openly flirts with women almost from the moment she’s on-screen. Being a rather early example of lesbian representation in games, she has sometimes been perceived as shallow.
But her open attraction to women makes her deeply relatable. A fair share of sapphic fans agree that they could also be persuaded to join this army for cute girls like Nephenee, so she’s clearly not alone. Her closely guarded trust is made apparent in higher support conversations.

7Steph Gingrich - Life Is Strange
In theLife Is Strangeseries, Steph becomes a main character and a possible love interest inLife Is Strange: True Colors. Her LGBTQ+ pride, creativity, and geeky hobbies like live-action roleplaying (LARPing) reflect the overlap between the queer community and nerd culture as a whole.
You also get to see her loyal streak whether you romance her or not, showing solidarity with Alex at key points in the game regardless of their relationship status. That integrity and her personal struggles combine to make her feel well-rounded and very authentic throughout the game. Plus, she has a cute pet cat! What could be better?

6Ellie - The Last of Us
Debuting as a kid for Joel to protect duringThe Last of Us, Ellie comes into her own during the sequel. She’s started a relationship with Dina, a bisexual Jewish girl in Jackson, shortly after the game begins. The story naturally gets rockier from there.
Seeing Ellie grapple with her desire for revenge and the chance to live peacefully with Dina is an intriguing arc for a lesbian couple. It’s typical for action hero tales, sure, but refreshing to see in this new context. Her softer and playful side warring with her darker ambitions makes Ellie both flawed and compelling.

5Adira - Kena: Bridge of Spirits
As she’s reunited with her partner, Hana, Adira is actually one of the boss fights fromKena: Bridge of Spirits. The relics you find to help her are Adira’s Love, Fear, and Regret. The first revives a stone creature called Rufus that she built alongside Hana. Combining Adira’s crafting skills with Hana’s mystical abilities, he truly embodies their bond.
Her fear of losing Hana blended into her regret of that coming to pass, leading Adira to become lost in grief and turn into the Corrupt Woodsmith. That’s some very potent love.

4Judy Alvarez - Cyberpunk 2077
A tech expert fromCyberpunk 2077, Judy is an idealist in a troubled world. You get to see her confronting many ugly truths in her quests. It doesn’t necessarily break her spirit so much as force her to see that things may not be as simple as she wants it to be.
The satisfying conclusion to her romance story sees you and Judy leaving the corrupt Night City, aligning with some of her previous plans. In the midst of Cyberpunk 2077’s chaos, the sweetness of this wholesome relationship shines brightly.

3Anevia Tirabade - Pathfinder
Married to Irabeth inPathfinder, Anevia’s relationship with her partner is highly praised by the fandom for feeling so natural and full of affection. Their reunion scene when you first Irabeth shows two people who are well and truly smitten with each other.
Finding out that Irabeth pawned her family sword to afford the elixir that helped Anevia magically transition to be a woman in body as well as mind? That cemented their place as wlw icons.
