Quick Links
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2has dozens of unique weapons that vary in time to kill, recoil, mobility, and many other factors. Some weapons within the same family can feel fundamentally different just by changing the ammo type. The M13C is one such weapon, acting as the hard-hitting variant of the M13B.
Compared to the M13B, the M13C fires .300 Blackout rounds that are much slower than 5.56 NATO but are subsonic, hiding death skulls from enemies you kill. It also hits significantly harder than the M13B, but this comes at the cost of substantially increased recoil. If you’re attempting to unlock this weapon and its mastery camos, you’ll need some good builds for this weapon to shine.

How To Unlock The M13C
Strangely, the M13C has no unlock challenge associated with it. Those that missed the Shadow Siege event will need to play DMZ to unlock this weapon. If youextract from the DMZwith the M13C, it will become usable in multiplayer and Warzone.Anyone that owns this weapon can simply drop it for you at the start of a DMZ match.
Besides the DMZ, the only other way to unlock the M13C is topurchase a store bundle with a M13C blueprint.Pre-ordering Modern Warfare 3 will also unlock a blueprint for the M13C that can be used in multiplayer and Warzone.
Versatile M13C Build
The M13C struggles to land consistent shots past close range, so this build opts to fix that without sacrificing the weapon’s great mobility. TheVLK LZR 7mwgreatly buffs this weapon’s aiming stability and ADS stats. Since this weapon veers heavily to the left after the first three shots, we use theKomodo Heavymuzzle to remove most horizontal recoil from this weapon. We then equip theCommando Foregrip, D37 Grip, and TRX-56 Stockto heavily reduce the rest of this weapon’s recoil.
While it might seem excessive to place this many recoil attachments on a weapon, the end result is the M13C can reliably land upper torso and headshots at medium range. It isn’t ideal at longer distances due to the weapon’s poor bullet velocity of 300 m/s, but there’s little that can be done to address that since it fires subsonic ammunition. Stick to mid-range gunfights with this weapon for optimal results.
Loadout Recommendations
This weapon works best with anaggressive loadout, so we recommend equipping perks and equipment that allow you to benefit from the M13C’s high strafe speed.Quick Fixis incredible for recovering immediately after a gunfight, making it much easier to win 1v2 and 1v3 situations.Fast Handsbuffs this weapon’s reload speed even further and makes swapping weapons much faster, perfect forOverkillweapons. Bring a decent long-range weapon, and you should have a loadout that can do a little bit of everything.
Longshot M13C Build
The M13C’s poor bullet velocity makes it a poor choice for Warzone, so the main reason you’d use a long-range version of this gun is for longshot kills, a requirement for unlocking the Platinum mastery camo for most weapons. If you’re looking to unlock Platinum on this weapon, we recommend equipping theXTEN Angel-40optic to get real-time information on how far an enemy is from you. If they’re 38+ meters away, your kill will count as a longshot.
Every other attachment and tuning configuration is built to improve this weapon’s accuracy at long range. We use theKomodo Heavymuzzle to greatly reduce this weapon’s horizontal recoil. We then use theFTAC Ripper 56, D37 Grip, and TRX-56 Stockto greatly reduce the weapon’s overall recoil while improving its aiming stability. Tuned for recoil control, this weapon should be more than accurate enough to land upper torso shots at 40+ meters, allowing you to quickly kill enemies for your Platinum longshot challenge. If you don’t mind losing an optic, you’re able to opt to drop the XTEN Angel-40 sight for a longer barrel to increase the weapon’s bullet velocity.
A longshot loadout will want to useTactical Insertionsto respawn away from enemies in modes like Ground War and Invasion. It’s also a good idea to runGhostwithCold-Bloodedto avoid dealing with enemy killstreaks, notably UAVs. Find a good spot that overlooks a busy lane, then pick off targets with your weapon from 38+ meters to achieve longshot kills. Repeat as needed until you’ve unlocked the Platinum camo. If you’re playing 6v6 or 12v12, you can drop Cold-Blooded forFast Hands.
