Summary

Wood is an abundant resource inMinecraft, as almost every biome in the game has different types of trees that vary in size. A great way to utilize these naturally spawning trees is to turn them into your house, as hostile mobs can not spawn on leaves during the night.

Thankfully, many online tutorials created by various content creators specifically teach you the best way to construct a tree house, or even build a custom tree altogether. If you are interested in the safety of a tree, then check out the list below.

10Starter Treehouse Platforms

If you have just started a fresh playthrough of the game, chances are you need a safe spot to spend the first night to verify you aren’t overwhelmed by monsters. If you spawn ina jungle or a pine forestwith large trees, then a great way to protect yourself is to create some small platforms on the tree that can hold your supplies and bed.

These platforms can be reached by creating ladders, so no mobs can climb up and knock you down to the ground. Furthermore, since this build only requires wood to complete you don’t need to worry about traveling down a dangerous mineshaft to collect some stone for your house.

9Starter Treehouse Base

Unlike the platform base, Ayvocado’s starter tree house only requires you to find a tall oak tree to call your home, so just travel through an oak forest until you find a tree that is larger than any in the surrounding areas. However, you may want to customize these trees with some extra logs and leaves, to make the overall structure appeal more sturdy.

Specifically, making the base of the tree thicker allows you to create an interior space that contains a ladder leading up to the very top of the tree. Then, construct a small platform in the foliage to store your supplies and lay your bed, all while allowing you to spy on any mobs around your base.

8Cherry Blossom Treehouse

The Cherry Blossom Forest is one of the most beautiful biomes in the entire game, as it is filled with pink trees and flowing petals that flutter through your field of view. It is no surprise that almost anyone would want to build a tree house here since you can completely surround yourself with pink foliage.

To build this home, you’ll need to find a tree that sits slightly farther away from other structures, so you can build freely and distinguish your home. Also, remember to collect glass and shears to build within the leaves and create an exterior platform at the top of the build.

7Oak Treehouse

Capy Builds' Oak Treehouse brings a small home into the sky, creating a structure out of classic Oak Planks. This build involves creating a small custom tree to serve as the base of the house, but you could always customize a larger oak tree instead.

On top of a small cabin at the top of the tree, the house also comes with a small balcony that can be used for growing plants, enchanting, or cooking. Most importantly, remember to hollow out the tree and create a ladder that leads up to the house, as this will protect you from dangerous mobs.

6Mangrove Swamp Treehouse

From this entry onward, all the tutorials get significantly harder, as they all require you to construct your own custom tree. Building a custom tree in Minecraft is both necessary for a tree house, but also incredibly hard since leaves can only be collected byan enchanted pickaxeor shears.

To build a Mangrove Swamp Tree House, construct a wispy tree that is taller than any other tree in the area. This will allow you to create multiple snaking platforms up the trunk of the tree and construct your house at the very top of the leaves.

5Glass Treehouse

While this tree is certainly not very realistic, creating a glass observation room at the top of this tree house really turns this home into a strategic base. By using white stained glass, you can use wooden planks and logs to expand the very top of the base to create a room that delivers complete views of the surrounding environment.

Remember to build multiple shears to cut down leaves, as this tree will be a completely custom creation that will require a nice amount of foliage. Finally, remember to decorate the exterior with hanging lamps and torches, or else you’ll find mobs spawning right where you live.

4Jungle Treehouse

If you keep getting attacked in the middle of the night or have even downloaded a mod tospawn more difficult mobsin your game, then building a tree house high up in the sky is a great way of creating a safe environment. Specifically, DiddiHD’s Jungle Tree House involves quite a bit of work, as you’ll be constructing a giant tree to live in.

We recommend collecting all the wood and leaves needed before you begin to build the tree itself, and you can also make this project easier by having plenty of scaffolding available. Once you complete the tree, you can build up a spiral pattern around the trunk of the tree, creating small huts for you to store your materials and spend the night.

3Jungle Treehouse Colony

If you are looking for more than a single house, then you could always improve the previous build by creating an entire colony of homes. This Jungle Treehouse Colony combines several different trees, each holding a customizable treehouse.

This build can be used in a multiplayer server, or you could always designate each home to serve a different purpose. For example, you could have a single treehouse designed around enchanting, while another is focused on storing items or crafting.

2Fantasy Treehouse

If you want to build a custom tree, why not theme the entire structure around fantastical creatures? This Fantasy Treehouse is inspired by fairies, and is made up of a cottage resting atop of a dying tree.

To liven up the build, Jax and Wild used different lush vines and leaves to spice up the exterior. Meanwhile, the interior is just large enough for one person to live comfortably, so long as you don’t bring too many supplies.

1Large Treehouse

Although Lex The Builder’s Large Tree House is smaller than the jungle home, this build is significantly easier to construct without skimping out on an aesthetic appearance. Similar to other builds, the top of the tree is made out of a glass viewing chamber where you can spend the night, while the thicker tree trunk allows you to create multiple rooms.

Also, you can create a smelting area at the very base of the tree, and even build an entrance area and some colorful mushrooms. While this build is certainly not the largest tree house you can build, it completely holds everything you need without overwhelming you with constructing a massive custom tree.
