Faerie Support

These are extra Faerie cards that support the theme and do a bit more than what’s already included in the deck. Since the deck is heavily focused on Faeries, almost every budget creature belongs to the Faerie type.

Talion’s Messenger ($0.26)

Fae Dominion has two main themes to the deck - drawing cards and playing Faeries.Talion’s Messengeris a card that does both of those things. It gives you draw power while also boosting up the stats of another Faerie with +1/+1 counters.

Talion’s Messenger only costs three mana, letting you start taking advantage of it right away. It also doesn’t have to attack itself to trigger the effect. This allows you to hold it back to ensure it doesn’t die to combat, and the effect can keep going off.

MTG Faerie Swarm card and art background

Faerie Swarm ($0.72)

Faerie Swarm is a card that can very quickly grow to giant stats. At its lowest, it is a 1/1 creature, but that number increases for every blue permanent you control.

Nearly every creature in the base Fae Dominion deck is blue, which can lead toFaerie Swarm hitting the battlefield with massive stats. Four mana is somewhat costly, but when that can bring a creature with flying and a ton of power this is worth the cost as it becomes a threat right away.

MTG Notorious Throng card and art background

Notorious Throng ($2.08)

Notorious Throngacts as both a way to flood the battlefield with Faerie tokens alongwith gaining an extra turn. In order to pay the prowl cost you have to deal damage with a Rogue - which, luckily, there are plenty of Faeries that are also that typing to let you pay the cost.

Even without the prowl, Notorious Throng can create a ton of tokens. Since all your Faeries have flying, it iseasy to attack into someone without anything that can block them. This lets you deal a ton of damage which makes a ton of 1/1 Faerie Rogue tokens as one token is made for each damage. Soif you dealt 15 damage, you get 15 tokens.

Draw Support

Another sub-theme of Fae Dominion is drawing multiple cards in a turn. As such, many of the noncreature spells included can draw you cards at instant speed. Since you draw so many cards, cards that benefit from you doing so are great to include.

Chasm Skulker ($0.37)

Chasm Skulkeris a creature that constantly grows with each draw by getting +1/+1 counters. This alsoincludes cards you draw during your draw step, so it can get out of hand very quickly.

It becomes a ticking timebomb, as if it ever dies you create X tokens equal to the +1/+1 counters it had. So unless Chasm Skulker is taken care of right away, it getting destroyed can be more of a hindrance than a good thing.

Gadwick, The Wizened ($0.56)

Since you’re playing so many blue cards,Gadwick, the Wizenedis a way to keep your opponents' nonland permanents tapped. you’re able to also draw a lot of cards with it late-game by putting a lot of mana into the X cost.

Gadwick has pretty solid stats, making it harder to get rid of. You often aren’t going to be attacking with it anyway, so you may ensure you will be able tocontinuously use its effect. The effect triggers on any cast, so even if your spell gets countered you still get the effect to tap a permanent to take care of a potential problem creature that might come your way.

Psychosis Crawler ($0.26)

Psychosis Crawleris a staple in any deckthat wants to be drawing cards. It turns all of your card draw into burn damage, and with how often the Fae Dominion deck draws cards, this can rack up very quickly.

On the battlefield, it turns all the cards in your hand into its own stat boosts. If you have ways to make sure you have no hand size limit, that can lead to Psychosis Crawler having massive stats. Without it, it’s still a 7/7 if you have a full hand.

Mana Upgrades

The mana base of Fae Dominion is rather solid out of the box. Since it is only a two-color deck, it does not need to dedicate a lot of space for a more expensive land base and can instead run more basics than normal. However, there are still some upgrades that can be done to improve upon consistently so you’re never left needing a color you don’t have.

Thought Vessel ($1.10)

The Fae Dominion deck draws a lot of cards, and with the max hand size being seven, this can lead to you often needing to discard your hand. However, withThought Vessel, not only do you get tonot worry about your hand size, you also get a mana rock attached to that effect.

Mana rocks that only cost two mana are excellent, as they can hit the battlefield as early as turn one if it’s backed up by aSol Ring. Even then, it helps push you ahead on mana early.

Commander Sphere ($0.11)

Commander Sphereis one of the most played mana rocks in Commander. It also plays into the theme of Fae Dominion rather well as it candraw you a card. It doesn’t need any specific color of mana either allowing any mana-producing permanent to help cast it.

Commander Sphere is great as you can tap it to add a mana, then sacrifice it to draw a card. Although it costs three mana to cast, which isa bit high for a mana rock, its effect is more than worth the cost, especially in a deck that cares about drawing cards.

Thought Vessel MTG Card

Drowned Catacomb ($2.50)

Drowned Catacombis the best of the budget dual lands that are not included in the decklist. Most of the time, Drowned Catacomb is going toenter the battlefield untappedas you are almost always going to have either an Island or a Swamp in play.

Untapped dual lands are the best kind, since they can immediately make an impact. Since you are only playing two colors, the basics you are playing are only going to be the ones that Drowned Catacombs need to enter the battlefield untapped. Even if you don’t draw into your basic lands, it is still a dual land which is almost always going to be better than a basic land since it can tap for either of the colors your deck needs.
