Warhammer 40,000: Darktidehas had some pretty big changes since launch, including a complete restructuring of the playable classes and their Talent trees. Players who have been battling the forces of chaos since the beginning may have had to re-learn some aspects of their characters, particularly Psykers.
Psyker players, like the other classes, now have a much wider array of Talents at their disposal, letting them customize their character build in ways they never could before. If you’re returning to Darktide after some time away and are wondering how Warp Charges have changed, read on!

Are Warp Charges Still In Warhammer 40,000: Darktide?
Warp Charges, formerly part of the Psyker class’s baseline abilities in Darktide, are nowonly available to a specific high-level build. As of Patch 13 and the Class Overhaul released with it onOctober 5, 2023, a Psyker character must have leveled up enough tounlock the Warp Siphonkeystone power, at the bottom-left of the Talent Tree.
Choosing Warp Siphon locks you out of selecting Empowered Psionics or Disrupt Destiny, so choose wisely!

Psykers who have not unlocked Warp Siphonwill no longer gain or use Warp Charges in any way.
What Are Warp Charges In Warhammer 40,000: Darktide?
Warp Charges are gained whenever a Psyker with Warp Siphonkills an Elite or Specialist Enemy by any means- it doesn’t have to be with psychic powers. Any Warp Charges you’ve built updecay at a rate of one Charge every twenty-five seconds, and you can haveup to four Warp Charges at a time.
Using your Combat Ability (Venting Shriek, Telekine Shield, or Scrier’s Gaze depending on your build)consumes all your Warp Chargesand reduces the cooldown on the Combat Ability by7.5 percentper Charge. This means that with full charges, you can shave nearly a third off of your cooldown!
The remaining purple Talents available after Warp Siphon allgrant extra benefits to building up and using Warp Charges. You’ll probably want to unlock them all once you have enough Talent Points available!
