Featuring Gary Baseman by Gary Baseman

Secret Lair Super Drops like these are often amazing for collectors looking to snag some fantastic Commander staples with new artwork and for fans of a particular artist. Much of the value of Secret Lairs comes from their collectibility, but some are worth picking up solely on the cards included in the Drop.

The value of these Secret Lairs is taken from TCGplayer’s Market Value based on the regular, non-foil version of the most recent printing of the card on July 31, 2025, and may change in value over time.

Absolute Annihilation by Tomo77

7Featuring: Gary Baseman - $0.15

Basic land Secret Lair Drops are always strange to price out. Found across packs, preconstructed decks, and Bundles, basic lands often are pretty cheap, making it difficult to gauge the value of this drop.

That said, since this Secret Lair features American artist, cartoonist, and animator Gary Baseman, the value is likely closer to the $30 to $40 range. Baseman brings his signature cute but creepy artstyle to the game in a five-card panorama across each type of basic land. The Forest is particularly unsettling, with the living tree frowning at the little goblin person walking with their drink.

Keep Partying Hard, Shred Harder Than You Previously Thought Possible by RishXXV, Wolfskulljack, NC Winters, and Mark Riddick

6Absolute Annihilation - $13.60

One of the more unique Secret Lairs to grace the game, the Absolute Annihilation Drop includes four black and red cards with artwork by Tomo77. The amazing thing about this Secret Lair is that all text on these cards is in ALL CAPS, so you know when you cast these spells you have to yell them at your opponents.

The most valuable card here is Mass Hysteria, which has only seen one printing back in the original Mirrodin set in 2003. This one-red enchantment spreads chaos across the battlefield, giving all creatures in play haste, both yours and your opponents.

Artist Series Kev Walker by Kev Walker

5Keep Partying Hard, Shred Harder Than You Previously Thought Possible - $15.01

One of the coolest Legendary-themed Secret Lairs Magic has ever released, the Keep Partying Hard Drop includes four very scary legendary creatures to face in Commander. With an art direction based on heavy metal album covers, this drop features artists Mark Riddick, rishxxv, WolfSkullJack, and N.C. Winters.

Magic The Baseballing Cards by Fay Dalton & Scott Okumura

Jeska, Thrice Reborn and Godo, Bandit Warlord stand out as being particularly rad, and Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools and Vial Smasher the Fierce also feature some stunning artwork. Vial Smasher is one of the big draws here, being a particularly brutal commander in the right deck.

4Artist Series: Kev Walker - $15.77

One of Magic’s most prolific artists, Kev Walker finally gets his own dedicated Secret Lair. This Drop includes four cards, Carnage Tyrant, Faeburrow Elder, Fleshbag Marauder, and It That Betrays, all hand-picked by Walker to be included.

Since his first card back in 1996’s Mirage set, Walker has gone on to contribute more than 470 unique pieces of art for Magic. For this Drop, Walker decided on the direction of the artwork as well as writing the flavor text, which follows a hero’s quest against the malevolent gods of their world.

Buggin’ Out by Wooden Cyclopse

3Magic: The Baseballing - $17.09

The original five Lorwyn planeswalkers are back, but they’re not here to fight, they’re here to play the multiverse’s favorite game, baseball. These double-sided cards are based on classic collectible baseball cards and are extremely flavorful.

Notably, the team that these ‘walkers are playing on is The Gatewatch, the in-universe name for those who swore to protect the Multiverse from threats, and does not include Garruk Wildspeaker. Maybe he was traded to the team recently, given all the players who jumped ship during March of the Machine.

Now on VHS by Chris Seaman & Scott Okumura

2Buggin’ Out - $21.29

Featuring artwork from artist and illustrator Wooden Cyclops, this Drop has five gooey and gross cards from Magic’s rotting underbelly. There are key cards here for all formats, including Eldritch Evolution to cheat into play much larger creatures, and Grist, the Hunger Tide, one of the most imaginative planeswalkers to be printed.

Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest stands out as one of the most psychedelic cards to ever be printed. Magic fans might recognize the art style from other Secret Lairs, including the 30th Anniversary Countdown Kit and the Heads I Win, Tails You Lose drops.

1Now On VHS! - $57.61

The Drop with the biggest bang for your buck is the incredibly cool Now on VHS! collection. Featuring artwork by Julie Dillon, Chris Seaman, David Robert Hovey, Svetlin Velinov, and Scott Okumura, this four-card Drop draws inspiration from old-school VHS tape box cover art.

Each card feels like a throwback to a classic movie or genre, like Rewind’s dystopian science fiction and Food Chain’s kaiju-esque design. The Alien-inspired artwork for The First Sliver is particularly cool, evoking the terror of the films with the actual terror of facing down this card in Commander.
