There’s plenty to keep you busy inDisney Dreamlight Valley, Disney’s take on the cozy life and farming simulator genres. Between dreamlight tasks, removing night thorns, and growing crops, it’s easy to forget about some of the things that exist in the game, like elixirs.

You can play the game just fine without ever using elixirs, but if you’re short on time or want to make the most of your everyday tasks, you will want to check out what these elixirs can do for you and if they can improve your play style.
Miracle Pickaxe Polish
Whenever you need more gems for crafting recipes, giving gifts, or selling,you can use the Miracle Pickaxe Polishto give youagathering boost when you’re mining. You apply elixirs to your tools by selecting the elixir from your inventory and choosing the “use” option.
Miracle Pickaxe Polish will last for ten uses, but just in case you think it means ten of the mining nodes, let us be clear that’s not the case. Instead, it only counts as a ‘use’if you get something frommining anything that qualifies as a gem.
If you get multiple gems from a node,each gem is counted individually as a ‘use’.
The easiest way to know if you are still gaining the effects of the Miracle Pickaxe Polish istolook at your pickaxe. If it has the polish applied, it willglow with a light teal outline. Once the polish elixir is used up,your pickaxe will look normal again.

Dreamlight

If you’re low on dreamlight, you can craft some up if you have enough dream shards.Ten dream shards will give you 250 dreamlight.
The real benefit of using this elixir is thatyou are more likely to get gems when you’re mining.lt makes replenishing gem stocks a breeze and allows you to geta tidy sum of star coins in a matter of a few minutes, rather than mining tons of nodes and waiting for them to respawn just to do it all over again.
Miracle Growth Elixir
Miracle Growth Elixiris a boost you apply to your royal watering can. When you water crops with the elixir applied,the next 20 crops that you water will grow instantly.
If you’re farming pumpkinsfor recipes or star coins,this is a really helpful way to get your initial investment back very quicklyor acquire plenty of ingredients.
You’ll know you’ve applied the elixir to the watering canif there is a teal glowing aura around it when you have it equipped.
Bothvitalys crystalsand rich soil are relatively rareor time-consuming to acquire, somake sure you save any rich soil.
Partner up with characters with the gardening specialtyany time you harvest crops to make the most of your growth elixir. You will get a few more crops during your harvest if you’re hanging out with a gardening buddy.
Miracle Fishing Bait
Using the elixir known asMiracle Fishing Bait will turn white fishing ripples into orange-quality fishing ripples, givinga greater chance tofish up rare fish. It providesten uses,so you can still fish other colored fishing ripplesand it won’t use up the Miracle Fishing Bait elixir.
Elixirs will stay appliedto your royal tools until the uses are depleted.Even if you log out of the game, you’ll still have the remaining uses for the applied elixirs.
One of the best uses for the Miracle Fishing Bait elixir isto use it when it’s raining,and fish at Dazzle Beach.
You’ll be much more likely toreel in rare Fugu fishsince they canonly be fished from orange-quality ripples.
Miracle Shovel Varnish
The Miracle Shovel Varnish provides ten usesand increases your chances of getting items whenever you dig. You can alsoget more than one extra item, such as four soil and multiple star coins, but since you only dug one holeit will count as one ‘use’.
The best use for this elixir is toget some extra items that are harder to obtainsuch as sand, pebbles, seashells, and clay.
Though the easiest way to tell if your royal tool has an elixir applied is just to equip the tool and check for a teal outline,you can also check in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. Aseries of arrows pointing upjust above the tool display in the bottom right-hand corner of the screenwill indicate that you have some boosts.
If you select the option to check out the details,it will show any elixirs as well as any food boosts.
Next to the boosts,there will be small numbers indicating how many uses you have leftof any elixirs.
Dry wood is just the piles of stickslying around that look white.
Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish
The Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish works the sameway as the Miraculous Pickaxe Polish, butyou can get 25 uses out of the elixir. Excellent for gem hunting,or making quick work of resident requestswhen they want a particular gem as one of their favorite daily items.
Vitalys crystals count as gems, so you have a chance toget some extra vitalys crystalsif you use the elixir while miningin the Vitalys Mines.

Onyx and vitalys crystals are the most difficult items to obtainfor this particular elixir, so it’s a good idea to save as many of these as possible when mining.
Even More Miraculous Growth Elixir
The Even More Miraculous Growth Elixirworks the same way as the Miraculous Growth Elixir butprovides 50 usesinstead of 20.To gain star coins the best use of this elixir is tofarm pumpkins, and hang out with a gardening buddy while harvesting to get some bonus pumpkin crops.
Sell them at one of Goofy’s stalls, and you’ll be rolling in coins like Scrooge McDuck.
Withdouble the requirements for rich soil, this growth elixir may not be one you can have in great quantities. It’s costly to make, but understandably so,since it makes gaining star coins through pumpkin farming exceptionally easy.
Even More Miraculous Fishing Bait
TheEven More Miraculous Fishing Bait gives you 25 usesinstead of ten. This might be good to have on hand during a Star Path event in case there are fishing questsrequiring you to catch large quantities of rare fish, which can be challenging to complete without one of these two fishing elixirs.
Even More Miraculous Shovel Varnish
This improved shovel varnish elixir works the same as the Miraculous Shovel Varnishbut provides 25 uses. What you’ll get most from shoveling regular ground is lots of soil and star coins, andthe biome you’re digging inaffects what you’ll receive. You can get more pebbles or clay, for example, in certain biomes than others.
Digging special sparkling spots on the groundwill not count as a “use"of the elixirs, andwon’t give you extra night or dream shards.
Using this elixirmay also improve your odds of digging up memories, but if using the elixir for that, it’s best to alsohave your energy bar in the yellow to maximize your luckas well. Keep mining those vitalys crystals, andyou’ll have plenty of elixirs to help you get star coins or rare items.
