A surprising number of reprisals are in this season, including some D2Y1 weapons like Nightshade and Showrunner. Some older weapons models used in the original Destiny were also brought forward as seasonal weapons, now with a Lucent Hive coat of paint. This guide will cover the dozens of new weapons added this season, explain how the new Exotic weapons work, and reveal the drop locations for every new weapon added in Season of the Witch.
Updated July 31, 2025, by Charles Burgar:Crota’s End is now available, allowing Guardians to chase the iconic Necrochasm Auto Rifle alongside some other fan-favorite reprisals. We’ve updated this guide to include accurate information on all Crota’s End weapons, and we’ve updated our playlist weapons section to fix a few errors that were present in the Trials and Nightfall loot tables.

New Exotics
Season of the Witch has two Exotics for players to earn, technically three if we’re including the Final Shape pre-order Exotic.Ex Dirisis the Season Pass Exotic. It’s an Arc Grenade Launcher that resides in the Special slot, firing slow-moving projectiles that detonate on impact. Unlike most GLs, this weapon pulls ammo directly from your reserves when firing, meaning you never have to reload. When the weapon becomes enraged, its fire rate is noticeably increased, making this a solid add-slaying weapon for double Special loadouts.
Tessellationis the pre-order bonus for Lightfall, a Kinetic Fusion Rifle that resides in theSpecialslot. Its damage type automatically adapts to your equipped subclass, Light or Dark. This makes it possible to run a triple Strand or Stasis loadout on those respective subclasses. Additionally, the weapon can consume your grenade to create a powerful linear fusion shot that detonates on impact.

The Exotic from Crota’s End is Necrochasm,an Auto Rifle known for its blazing fast fire rate and on-kill explosions. The API currently has this weapon classified, so we can’t list its exact properties or Exotic traits. Once Crota’s End releases, we’ll update this section to include Necrochasm’s updated perks for Destiny 2.

Seasonal Weapons
Season of the Witch has six seasonal weapons for Guardians to chase. Unlike last season, there are no weapon reprisals in the loot pool. Most of these weapons are Lucent Hive variants of weapons made by Cassoid, a weapon manufacturer that made most of the weapon models seen in the original Destiny. All activity weapons roll with theHead Rushorigin trait, granting a major boost to reload speed and handling after standing up from a prolonged crouch.
Damage:Strand
Nadir Foundry Reprisals
Beyond new activity weapons, this season has also brought back some notable Vanguard weapons from Destiny 2’s first year. All of these weapons were Vanguard weapons crafted by Nadir. As such, these weapons all roll with theNadir Focusorigin trait, granting them increased accuracy and range the longer you fire the weapon. These weapons may be obtained by using the “Red War Engram Focusing” option at the Rite of Culling vendor, located in the southern wing of the H.E.L.M.

Craftable Exotic Weapons
New to Destiny 2, Season of the Witch brings an Exotic Mission rotator playlist that lets Guardians experience some of the best missions released in previous years. This season has brought back three Exotic missions from previous seasons, each of which releasing withcraftable variants of the Exotic mission’s respective weapon. The missions also had their loot pools expanded to include seasonal weapons that are appropriate for the mission—for example, Seraph’s Shield now gives the IKELOS 1.03 weapons originally reissued during Season of the Seraph. The reprised missions and Exotics are as follows:
Presage
Dead Man’s Tale (120 Scout Rifle)
Shoot to Loot and Compulsive Reloader were added to its perk pool.
Season of the Haunted*

Can now roll with Unrelenting, Demolitionist, or Thresh
No perk changes

Season of the Seraph
Loot Pool Additions
As with most seasons, Season of the Witch has added a few new weapons to the core playlists. Ritual activities received a new weapon each, and pinnacle activities like Nightfalls and Trials of Osiris received two new weapons each. The world loot pool also saw some additions, notably a few weapons from Nadir—the weapon foundry responsible for creating most D2Y1 weapons like Showrunner and Nightshade.
This season’s ritual weapon is Malediction, a Kinetic 120 RPM Hand Cannon of Cassoid design. This weapon’s notable feature is its unique origin trait:Wild Card.Kills with this weapon have a chance to create experimental submunitions at the target’s location.

As for perks, this weapon has a static roll that does not change. This first trait column includes Discord and Enlightened Action, a new perk that improves reload speed and handling by dealing damage. The final trait column can use either Harmony or Explosive Payload. Harmony and Discord is a solid pairing in the Crucible, allowing this weapon to two-tap Guardians at or under T5 Resilience. For PvE, Enlightened Action and Explosive Payload is a decent workhorse for seasonal and ritual activities, although it won’t hold a candle to most meta Primary and Special weapons in GM Nightfalls or Master raids.
