Magic: The Gatheringhas just had its Gen Con panel, celebrating 30 years of Magic by revealing not just the 2024 lineup, but also new releases all the way to 2026.

From returning settings to radically new aesthetics, Fallout, and even a whole Final Fantasy set, the next few years of MTG are looking to be a wildly eclectic mix of things. Here’s everything that was revealed.

Jurassic Park In The Lost Caverns Of Ixalan – Q4, 2023

This year isn’t just the 30th anniversary of MTG. Jurassic Park is celebrating its big year too, and so the two are teaming up to include special,Jurassic Park-themed cards.

Much like last year’s Transformers cards found in The Brothers' War, this will include mechanically unique cards with Jurassic Park art, found in Collector boosters and in the List in Set boosters. There will also be multiple Secret Lair drops based on Jurassic Park, launching around the same time as Ixalan itself.

Ravnica Remastered – Q1 2024

Our start to 2024 begins with a return to the city of guilds, Ravnica. We’ll be here for the first two sets of the year, butRavnica Remasteredbrings together cards from the Ravnica and Return to Ravnica blocks, as well as Guilds Of Ravnica, Ravnica Allegiance, and War of the Spark in one big remastered draft environment.

Expect reprints aplenty, iand an interesting collision of Guild mechanics from across all three trips to the plane. We’ll even see some new Shock Land reprints to give the set a bit of spice, with retro frame treatments to sweeten the deal.

Murders at Karlov Manor art by Ryan Pancoast

Murders At Karlov Manor – Q1, 2024

Our first real return to Ravnica since the War of the Spark,Murders at Karlov Manoris the first time a set here hasn’t been focused on the guilds. Instead, Murders at Karlov Manor is a thematic whodunit set, complete with detectives, suspects, and puzzles to solve.

This is the first Standard-legal set of the year, and it’ll be fascinating to see how one of Magic’s favourite settings can handle being without its guilds, and the thought of using Ze Little Grey Cells in the middle of a Commander game is very exciting.

Ravnica Clue Edition by Justine Cruz

Ravnica: Clue Edition – Q1, 2024

Hasbro is bringing two of its biggest properties together, to finally give Magic: The Gathering its own take on Clue (or Cluedo). Tying in to Murders at Karlov Manor, this special release is the first time MTG has crossed over with one of Hasbro’s major board games, and features Ravnica’s “premier detectives” solving the murder.

However, we also know this won’t be a straight reskinning of Clue itself. Instead, it’s framed more as a Magic format or supplementary product with Clue-esque twists. This is one of the most mysterious products revealed for 2024 so far, so hopefully w’ere not too far off hearing more about it.

Outlaws at Thunder Junction Key Art by Lie Setiawan

Outlaws Of Thunder Junction – Q2, 2024

Yee-haw, after years of speculation, Magic is finally going to the Wild West for its second Standard set of the year.Outlaws of Thunder Junctionfeatures gunslingers, spooky desert times, and, of course, a gang of outlaws comprised of Magic’s most notorious villains.

Western has been one of the most heavily-requested themes for a Magic set, and after Streets of New Capenna in 2022, there’s no reason to think Wizards can’t pull of something this different the usual Magic fare.

Universes Beyond: Fallout – March, 2024

2024 is starting early with the Universes Beyond crossovers, as in March we’ll be getting a series ofCommander decks based on the popular Fallout seriesof games. Set in a post-apocayptic wasteland following a global nuclear war, Fallout is a world of mutants, raiders, bizarre factions, and weird, retrofuturistic science.

We don’t know what these decks will look like, or even how many of them there will be, but you can expect plenty of grungy, retro style and hints of the sense of humour Fallout is best known for when it launches in March.

Bloombarrow art by Ryan Pancoast

Bloomburrow – Q3, 2024

Bloomburrow, Magic’ third Standard set of 2024, is the closest it’s likely ever going to get to Cottagecore, as it follows woodland creatures as they go on adventures in a world completely devoid of Humans. Seemingly inspired by the likes of Redwall and Watership Down, we’ll see Mice, Rats, Rabbits, Frogs, and more pick up the sword in a set Wizards is describing as “cute and cosy”.

Personally, this is the set I’m most excited for in 2024. A lifelong fan of Redwall, the shift to focusing on animals gives Magic an angle it’s never really explored before in any great detail. I’m also hoping we see some characters who’ve yet to be given homes, like Grist, Kwain, and Archelos.

Duskmourn House Of Horror Key Art via Wizards of the Coast

Duskmourn: House Of Horror – Q4, 2024

Duskmourn: House Of Horroris totally rad set pastiches 1980s horror movies, games, and media for a spooky expansion inside a haunted house. We can expect this to be a bit lighter than the gothic horror of Innistrad, but still full of all the ghosts and ghouls that we know and love from a horror set.

One question that remains unanswered is where Duskmourn is set. We now have a 1980s world floating around the multiverse, which could open up all sorts of possibilities. Cowabunga, let’s hop on our skateboards and go to the mall next time?

Modern Horizons 3 art by Chris Rallis

Modern Horizons 3 – TBA 2024

Just as you thought Modern was settling down after Lord of the Rings and The One Ring, Wizards is kicking the hornets nest once again withModern Horizons 3. We know almost nothing about it, including its launch window, but we know we can expect a mixture of powerful reprints and potentially even more game-changing brand new cards.

We already know Modern Horizons 3 will include double-faced cards and Planeswalkers, but it would also be the perfect time to reprint the five allied-colour fetchlands, which didn’t get a showing in MH2.
