Everything from Skits to Sub-Quests to Character Quests to the Main Questline has been vital aspects of theTales Ofseries for quite some time, so having yet another type of quest to look forward to wasn’t at all surprising in the brand new EX Quests offered inTales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn.
These types of Quests, while still primarily focusing on two party members, are entirely ‘Extra’ or ‘Optional,’ but should absolutely be hard focused on if you even remotely like Alphen and Shionne or the supporting characters in their party. EX Quests give them the send-off they deserve and are arguably the best in the expansion!
What Are EX Quests
EX Quests,or Extra Quests, areentirely optional questlinesthatbecome availablein Tales of Arise’s latest expansion, Beyond the Dawn,roughly halfway through the Main Storyand follows therelationship between Alphen and Shionne.
While the additional party members will help Alphen and Shionne throughout these EX Quests, the main draw will be onfurther developing, exploring, and ultimately tying a stunning bow on these lovebirds,giving them both the send-off they deserve after all they’ve done and been through.
All of this, and more, is done through onlyfour EX Quests,but you willgain Skill Points(SP)and Gald for completing themand will have access toShionne’s Diary,giving incredible perspective and insight on her thought process and feelings throughout this questline.
Sub-Quest Information
Additionally,some Sub-Quests will be halted when progressing through some EX Questsbut willbecome available again after completing the EX Quest,so don’t worry if you cannot suddenly complete or further progress through a currently active Sub-Quest.
Likewise,some Sub-Quests will not be available until completing specific EX Quests,making them a must-do if you’re looking to complete all Sub-Quests in the Beyond the Dawn expansion to obtain theUnparalleled Problem Solver Trophy/Achievement!
How To Start EX Quests
Thefirst EX Questwon’t become available until youcompletetheMain Quest’Faceless,' and will be located within the city ofViscintin theElde Menanciaregion.
Unlike most other optional Quests in Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn,EX Questsare marked with aGold Envelopeon yourMap and Mini-Map,helping you quickly identify them from their unique shine and appearance from the rest.
So,after completingthe ‘Faceless’ Main Quest,head to Viscintand look for thebright Gold Envelopeon yourMap(located at theInn) to begin the ‘Flower of Happiness’EX Quest.From here, thesubsequent EX Quests will become available after completing the previous ones and meeting specific prerequisites,which we will cover in the section below!

Pelegion - Second Level
Complete the EX Quest, ‘Flower of Happiness,‘the Sub-Quest, ‘The True Girl’s Face,‘and any three Character Sub-Quests. You must also advance the ‘For Whom’ Main Quest.
Relaxing Residence
Viscint - Autelina Palace
Complete the EX Quest, ‘A Feast of Blessings,’ and progress roughly halfway through the Main Quest, ‘Land of the Beginning.’

Complete the EX Quest, ‘Relaxing Residence,’ and progress roughly halfway through the Main Quest, ‘Land of the Beginning.’
