Ahead of today’s Gen Con debut, TheGamer can exclusively reveal that The First Chapter will include a secret sixth rarity called Enchanted.While the characters and gameplay of each Enchanted card is identical to its normal counterpart, these secret rares feature alternate art, borderless frames, and a unique foil treatment. They feature the inkwash foil treatment seen on the D23 Expo 2022 promo cards. These cards won’t give you any kind of gameplay advantage, but they’re destined to be a centerpiece of your Lorcana collection, and the pinnacle of rarity for The First Chapter.Related:Disney Lorcana’s The First Chapter Belongs To The VillainsIn booster packs, Enchanted cards take up the foil slot, meaning you have a chance of finding one Enchanted card in every pack. Only certain cards will have an Enchanted version, which have been selected based on their gameplay and story value, and in particular how each character relates to the overall narrative of the set.Right now you’re probably wondering what Enchanted cards look like. Well, that’s for you to discover! Brand manager and co-designer Ryan Miller says his team decided to keep the exact details of Enchanted cards under wraps so that fans can discover them on their own. “One of the reasons booster packs are so fun to open is the feeling of exploration and discovery,” Miller says. “In a world where information is at everyone’s fingertips, we wanted to bring some of that mystery and magic of opening a booster pack for the first time and discovering cards you’ve never heard of or seen before! We hope that this adds another layer of excitement and fun to an amazing event.”

As a kid that grew up opening packs ofPokemoncards in the pre-internet days, the idea of opening a Lorcana pack and finding something I’ve never seen before is thrilling. Ravensburger hopes that Gen Con attendees opening packs throughout this weekend will get to enjoy a feeling of discovery that’s become uncommon in the digital age. We’d love to show you all the cards right now, but this will surely make finding them even more special for fans.

Lorcana Enchanted Rarity

Gen Con attendees will get the first chance to open Lorcana packs starting today, so Ravensburger has set up a special contest just for them. The “Enchanted Seeker” contest is a race to find all of the Enchanted cards in The First Chapter.

The first person to discover a unique Enchanted card and tweet a picture of it using @DisneyLorcana and #EnchantedSeeker will be invited to a special event on Sunday. Contest details can be found in the news section of the Disney Lorcana website.

TheGamer will be keeping track of the Enchanted cards as they’re revealed as well.Click this link to see all of the Enchanted cardsthat have been found so far. We’ll be updating it throughout the day as soon as each card is discovered.

Attendees can also pick up an exclusive promo card, Mickey Mouse, Musketeer. The card is identical to the version found in booster packs, except for its GenCon 2023 stamp at the bottom. The Promo card will be available for free for anyone that purchases products at the Ravensburger Booth, as well as those who have tickets for the various Lorcana ticketed events throughout the weekend.
