Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2developer Ludosity has given us a peek atJimmy Neutron’s moveset, with a new gameplay trailer shared exclusively with TheGamer. As a defensive zoner, the boy genius has a bunch of tech in his arsenal to keep enemies at bay. He can even send out a robot companion to fight for him, letting him control a completely unique character.

However, this means Jimmy won’t be great in hand-to-hand combat, as he’s mostly vulnerable while his robot does all the fighting for him. On the whole, he certainly looks like he requires a lot of strategising, as another of his most powerful attacks has a long charge-up period, once again leaving him open to enemies.

Check out the new character spotlight included at the top, as the devs show off all the gadgets in Jimmy’s arsenal. Unsurprisingly, there’s a lot.

Jimmy will be a hard one to master in 1v1s, as two of his most powerful attacks leave him vulnerable to taking damage. His robot dog companion looks tough at least, and can take some damage for him. However, the rocket - which again, seems to deal a fair amount of damage - needs to be pre-programmed before being sent out. This would be a good way to trap your opponent, sending the rocket one way and blocking their escape yourself, but again, they could quickly attack you while you’re getting it all set up.

Due to this, his faster attacks seem to focus on keeping enemies at bay, rather than dealing massive amounts of damage. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, then Jimmy has a bouncy bubblegum shield he can whip out, making it harder for your opponent to land attacks. Otherwise, a quick hit of any other move should knock them back a bit, giving you some breathing room as you plan your next move.

One thing you can’t really mitigate, however, is Jimmy’s poor recovery move. Not only does it not cover a huge amount of space, but it also doesn’t deal any damage on its own. In other words, you’re better off making sure you’re not too close to the edge in the first place - if you’re knocked off, you’ll have a hell of a time trying to get back on the ledge.

If Jimmy doesn’t fit your playstyle, we can expect a bunch more of these character breakdowns ahead of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2’s launch. We don’t have a specific release date just yet, but we know it’s aiming for a 2023 release, filling up analready packed year for gaming.
