How To Get To The Scorched Caverns

to begin any storyline aspect inthe Mountains, you’ll first need to take the steps to help Grell and, overall, stop the blizzardraging up in the Mountains.

However, as soon as Grell has been soothed, and you have a new spell at your disposal, you learn thatstopping the blizzard messed up the ecological balance of the Fae Realm.Turns out that the blizzard was the only thing keeping anactive volcanoat bay.

You’re sent to check in withIgni, the Elven merchant livingby the volcanoin the Mountains, who can be foundpast the lava enemy by the Volcano after clearing itwith Grell’s spell.

Igni says she’s not trying to leave her spot and is happy there, but acknowledges that the volcano isn’t ideal, and suggests you do something to stop it. Theentranceto the Scorched Caverns isto the left of Igni’s shop.

Unsurprisingly, there’sanother sprite causing the volcanoto spit its lava, so it’s up to your farmer to once againgo through 25levels of dungeon-crawlingin order to solve the problem on Azoria’s behalf.

Just beware thatpools of lava on the floor hurt your farmer if you step in them, adding an extra obstacle to navigating through the floors and when facing enemies in combat.

Carry Flames To The Deposit Spot To Unlock The Door

Unlike the Saltwater Mines or Floating Ruins, in the Scorched Caverns, you’ll need totransport a blue flame to the location marked on your mapin order to unlock the following floor.

However, the flames will cool offbefore too long, and if this happens, you need to trekback to where you first found the flameand grab it again. Plenty of enemies will stand in your way, trying to prevent you from making it in time.

Thankfully, you cantouch the large blue flames around the levelto refresh your flame andset your timer back a few secondsto buy yourself more time to reach the goal.

Once the door is unlocked, you’ll still need to make it from the drop-off location to the door to continue, andthe goal and the door aren’t always close together, so be prepared to fight a bit more if necessary to make it to the next level.

Also, keep in mind that thehexagonal blocks between large platforms disappear after a moment. They will respawn eventually, typically after you’ve left the floor, butdon’t stand on them for too long, lest you fall into the lava!

Fireproof Potions Are Essential

You’ll need severalFireproof Potionsin order to survive inside the Scorched Caverns!

They’re a more advanced potion, and theycannot be purchased, so get ready to do some crafting at yourCauldron.

The air inside is too hot for your farmerto handle on their own, so just like with the Fairbreath Potions in the Floating Ruins, bring a supply of Fireproof Potions.

Should you become susceptible to the heat again, your screen fills with flamesthat make it tough to see, until theypass out and wake up outside the dungeon entrance.

Enemies In The Scorched Caverns

You’re likely used to the five main enemy variants by now in your third Fae Farm dungeon, but unsurprisingly, theenemies in the Scorched Caverns are the toughest combatantsyou’ll face in Fae Farm.

Like before, these enemies begin appearing on different floors throughout the Scorched Caverns as you’re initially going through, but now that you’ve got a good amount of exposure to dungeoneering, new enemies appear sooner than they have in previous dungeons.

Again, theyattack in predictable patterns, making these enemies easy to handle by the time you have their patterns down. Simplydodge attacks and swing back in the downtimewhen your enemy is recharging from their last attack.

Gleaming Tresroar

Once they see you, these Jumblescharge up an attackfor a moment beforespitting three targeted fireballsat you, which cover an admittedly large distance.

Ember Eutats

Like regular Eutats, these Jumbleshover in the air before dropping back downand damaging everything in the circle that forms beneath them. Additionally, these tougher Eutats alsospit four fireballsdirectly upward, downward, and to either side, whichfire as soon as they landand will damage you if you’re in their path when fleeing the drop radius.

Clanky

As soon as they see you, they beginspinning in a medium-sized circleand pursuing you, trying to spin into you to inflict damage.

Blamp

These little bombsdrop in clusters of several enemies, and are harmless until they notice you. Then, they’llfling themselves at you like homing missiles and explodeto inflict damage. You canattack them from the side or while they’re in midairto prevent them from hurting you.

Blocker

These shield-like Jumblescharge at you in a straight linefrom pretty far across a platform. They’re particularly observant, and tend younotice you fairly easily.

Wood, Ores, Potions

It’s not long before you’re truly in the thick of things with the enemies in Scorched Caverns, but the loot they drop is some of themost valuable loot in the game.

Scorched Caverns Sprite: Flammo

Finally, onFloor 25(just like in the other dungeons), you’ll meet the Sprite responsible for this regional phenomenon -Flammo, who’s spitting mad.

As you may expect by now, you’ll need todeliver five items in varying quantities to Flammo, who will consume these goods to quell his rage and see about helping you figure out what’s up with the Volcano.

Just like with the Sprites before them, once youdeliver all the itemsto their pedestals on Floor 25 on the Scorched Caverns, Flammo willinvite you back the following day for a meal before helping to solve your problem.

The next morning, after Flammo has their meal, they help youkick a rock to cover the opening of the Volcanoto help with the heat it’s been spitting out, and they give you a new spell, too.

This spell isBash, which allows you todash quickly through enemiesfor a quick escape, and you can also finallybreak the large path-blocking rocks around Azoriato find new locations orScattered Scrolls!
