TheFive Nights at Freddy’smovie features several cameos from one of the main animatronics from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, although they look a little different this time around.
Today, October 27, marks the long-awaited release of the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, which has been in production for a very long time. Before the movie released, director Emma Tammi teased that there was one more animatronic in the movie that hadn’t been shown or revealed at any point during the film’s marketing, and we finally know who it is.Spoilers ahead for a minor character in the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie.

Although Five Nights at Freddy’s fans seem to be reacting positively to the film so far, critics have been far less kind to it,as the film currently sits at a rating of 30 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
As pretty much everyone had previously guessed, the secret animatronic that appears in the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is indeed Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’s infamous Balloon Boy, although he’s a little different than what you might expect. In the games, Balloon Boy is a boy-sized animatronic that’s at least small enough to fit in vents, but in the movie he’s a small, seemingly possessed figurine of sorts.
Throughout the movie, there’s a running joke of the Balloon Boy figurine popping up in various places and acting as a jumpscare. In fact, Balloon Boy actually acts as the focus of the film’s post-credits scene, where he ends the film with one final jumpscare and a zoom-in on his face.
Balloon Boy seems like a very obvious tease that a second Five Nights at Freddy’s film is going to happen in the future, something that seems near-guaranteedconsidering the movie was already making a profit before it even came out.
It’s not quite clear why the team went with a tiny version of Balloon Boy rather than the full-sized animatronic that we see in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, but it is still a neat reference to see. Don’t worry, either, as he’s very clearly possessed, as he somehow manages to get in a car at the end of the film and just generally has a very creepy murder vibe about him.
Balloon Boy appearing as a little figurine (implying that a bigger animatronic version of him has existed at a previous pizzeria) does make some sense when you consider that Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is actually a prequel to the first game, which means that BB would already exist in the world. But hey, that’s just a theory.
