Five Nights at Freddy’sdirector Emma Tammi has revealed that the movie has one more character that hasn’t been revealed or shown off yet, and most fans think that it has to be an animatronic.
Without a doubt, the highlight of what we’ve seen so far of the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is its incredibly impressive animatronics, which flawlessly bring to life Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and even that murderous little cupcake. As impressive as those five are, it seems like we’re not done being impressed yet as there could be another animatronic that we’ve not even seen yet.
That’s based on something that the movie’s director, Emma Tammi, said during a panel at New York Comic Con.As showcased in this clip from YouTuber FM that seemingly comes from PopverseSays, Tammi teased the crowd at Comic-Con by saying, “There’s one Five Nights at Freddy’s character that we have not yet revealed in any teasers or trailers, so that’s something to look forward to”.
Although Tammi doesn’t straight up say that the secret character is an animatronic, it makes sense for it to be one as it’s really the only kind of character that would be worth hyping up for the movie. Sure, it could somehow be someone like Gregory from Security Breach or one of the series' other human characters, but it really seems like Tammi is hinting at another animatronic here.
With that likely being the case, fans are now speculating about who the final mystery animatronic is, and it seems that they’ve narrowed it down to two popular possibilities. As highlighted by Twitter user shypley, the two most likely candidates to appear in the movie are Balloon Boy and the Puppet (or Marionette, if you’re fancy), who are both from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
Having either of these two show up does make sense considering they’re two of the most popular animatronics from the series and would make for great teases for a potential sequel to the first film. They’re also both the perfect choice for that kind of tease, as they’re presumably a little simpler to put together than something like Toy Freddy or Toy Bonnie when it comes to hinting at a follow-up.
Out of the two animatronics, it seems a little more likely that it’ll be Balloon Boy who makes it into the first film. Not only is he a little more popular, but we’ve actually already seen evidence that he exists in this universe,as a child’s drawing of him can be spotted on the wall during one of the film’s trailers.
