While there are no guest characters inMortal Kombat 1yet, there will likely be some in the first wave of DLC characters, giving us ample time to brainstorm who we’d love to see pop up and make their way onto the robust and gruesome roster of this icon fighting game franchise.

Updated June 09, 2025, by Seth Parmer:Since we’re roughly two weeks out from Mortal Kombat 1’s release, we’ve decided to update this list to add two more characters we think would make an excellent addition to the roster, bringing us up to a solid ten entries total!

10Michael Myers

So far, we’ve had Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, and Jason Voorhees as guest characters in Mortal Kombat, leaving only Michael Myers and potentially Scream available as the next ones up. And, nothing against Scream, Michael is the clear choice.

He’s daunting, unimaginably strong, and can carve you up in the most gruesome ways imaginable, making him a perfect fit for this franchise.Despite being depicted as a slow and brooding slasher,Michael Myers can move when he wants to, and we’d love to see what moves they grant him if he were ever to join the roster.

9Master Chief

Being a PlayStation 3 exclusive in Mortal Kombat 9,Kratosjoined the roster and used his iconic Choas Blades to chop his opponent’s limbs off in a dramatic and detailed fashion only this series can get away with.

Now, it’s theMaster Chief’sturn to jump into the fray, BR and Dual-SMGs in hand, along with his nifty gadgets and grenades to help cleanse the realms of evil. Is it unlikely to get Master Chief as a DLC character in Mortal Kombat 1? Absolutely. But that won’t stop us from wishing for it!

8John Wick

Aside from slashers and serial killers, Mortal Kombat also does an excellent job providing action movie heroes as DLC characters, as we saw with Rambo, The Terminator, and RoboCop. So, naturally, we would want to seeJohn Wickdive into the chaos of Mortal Kombat.

He’s a modern badass who would elevate the roster by a substantial margin, which is saying something,as the current pool of characters in the game is already pretty solid. There’s no denying how cool John Wick is or how excellent of a person Keanu Reeves is, making this a match made in heaven if you ask us!

7Darth Vader

Darth Vaderis often touted as the best villain ever, and you don’t have to think too much to conclude as to why. He’s mysterious, brooding, and incredibly daunting, making him a shoo-in for making the cut eventually.

Force powers, a sick-looking Lightsaber, and unbelievable strength would make for fascinating gameplay elements and some nasty Fatalities and Brutalities. Darth Vader needs to come to Mortal Kombat 1, and I’m sure many would agree!

6Guts

If NetherRealm Studios were to ever pull from a manga or anime series, which is highly unlikely, we would love nothing more than for them to pluck Guts from the beloved and phenomenal Berserk series.

Guts is a deep and powerful character who goes through constant hardships and growth, creating a beautiful tale filled to the brim with badassery, love, solace, and acceptance. He is one of the best-written protagonists out there and is no stranger to slicing fools in half that dare stand in his way, making him an oddly solid choice for Mortal Kombat!

Darth-Vader

5Indiana Jones

With the Johnny Cage reference at the start of the game, how can you not want to see actualIndiana Jonesfight in Mortal Kombat? Even if Johnny Cage has a Palette that changes his appearance to Indy’s, the lack of a whip and gun makes it lose steam fast.

Whether you love or hate him, Indy is a perfect match as a guest character in Mortal Kombat 1, and the writing is already on the wall with the Temple of the Katara Vala stage. It makes sense and would surely get even more newcomers' feet in the door!

Berserk-Guts

4Judge Dredd

Perhaps one of the few characters that we genuinely cannot believe made their way into Mortal Kombat yet is Judge Dredd, a ‘Street Judge’ who straight-up executes criminals and will stop at nothing until justice is served.

While he may, unfortunately, be a bit too on-the-nose by today’s standards, Judge Dredd would fill the shoes of RoboCop nicely, serving as an enforcement officer who may go a bit above and beyond to ensure their city is safe.

3M. Bison

Mortal Kombat has never had another fighting game character join their roster as a guest character, which is rather strange if you think about it, making the odds ofM. Bisonjumping into the mix seem unlikely.

However, if there were to be any character from another fighting game to throw down with the likes of Smoke, Scorpion, Kitana, and the others, it would be M. Bison without question. He’s evil personified and would have no trouble dismantling his opponent, making him a no-brainer as a guest character!

2Ash Williams

If there has been one character consistently rumored and requested to join a NetherRealm game, it’s Ash Williams, the protagonist of theEvil Deadseries, who you get to see grow braver and braver throughout each film.

With decent hand-to-hand combat skills, a chainsaw, and a sawed-off shotgun, Ash wouldn’t shy away from the most crucial and necessary aspects of any Mortal Kombat title, leaning heavily into a showcase of blood, gore, and chaos, making him a perfect fit for the cast!

1Agent 47

Lastly, we haveHitman’sown Agent 47, a jack-of-all-trades-type assassin who uses all sorts of tools and trickery to annihilate his target and flee the scene without being noticed. The possibilities are endless for what he could bring to the table, and we would love to see NetherRealm’s creativity shine by making him a guest character.

Just imagine what his Fatalities and Brutalities could be, not to mention how unique his playstyle would be, ranging from fiber wire to handguns to Sheikh Zanzibar’s fire axe and much more. If there’s one character from another gaming IP we could will into Mortal Kombat 1. It would be Agent 47 any day of the week!
