Moonstone Islandhas a way of shaking things up by crashing you down to the island you will be calling home for the next year. Your supplies are scattered, and you are forced to stay overnight in the town’s tavern, courtesy of Ossono.

If you would rather never place your home, you are more than welcome to pay 50 coins per night to stay at the tavern… Luckily for you, Ossono is a sweetheart who gathers your missing items, including your Alchemist Tent. With the tent in hand, you will be able to choose a location for your first home and avoid paying the costly price of a room at Ossono’s.

How To Place Your Tent

Placing the tent is as easy as selecting theAlchemist Tent in your toolbarand walking around until the ghost image of the tent ishighlighted grayinstead of red.

Choosing A Location For Your First Home

Hunting for land can be daunting, even in a cozy game like Moonstone Island. There are a couple ofkey considerationsto keep in mind as you are trying to decide where you want to stay every night.

Do Not Stray Too Far

Keep in mind that you will be completing many questsfor the townsfolkof Moonstone Island and may want to beclose enough toconveniently walk overand chat with everyone. This may be personal preference, but the longer the walk, the more time wasted.

But Do Not Keep Too Close

On the other hand, beingtoo closeto towncan be a problemfor a few reasons. For one,you will notbe able to chop down trees or break apart rocks if you are stayingwithin the town’s limits.

Even if you are able to place the tent over an object, the object will not be automatically destroyed. This means any trees blocking the view of your tentwill remain indefinitelyif you are within the town’s limits.

Extra Land Is Important

Another reason to offer yourself a bit more space than the town limits offer is your personal growth. As you continue your journey, you will be farming supplies, raising spirits, and hanging on to quite a bit of stuff.

Be sure togive yourself ample spacefor farmland and buildings, such as the spirit barn.

Will I Ever Be Able To Move My Home?

Short answer, yes!Once you have progressed far enough into the game to gain theMoonstone Enchanter, you will be able tocraft additional tentsthat can be placed throughout the islands.

Once a second tent isplaced, your original tent can be picked up and moved.Everything inside the tentswill be the same, including any chest contents, as the doorway is considered a portal into your alchemist home.

Having asecond tenton you at all times is a nice way to explore far-away islandswithout needing to return hometo sleep or gather supplies.
