Baldur’s Gate 3is a massive game, so much so that there’s little chance that you would’ve seen it all. And depending on your choices, you might have locked yourself out of even seeing them in the first place. That itself isn’t really an issue; it makes replaying the game all the more enticing.

While some alternate paths are obvious, others aren’t so much, and you might end up missing the same stories you missed your first time around, even if you’re playing a completely opposite character than the first time. There’s a lot to see on the Sword Coast, so keep an eye out for these stories the next time you venture forth.

6Minthara’s Romance

Even if you’re playing a deeply violent character, your first time through Baldur’s Gate 3 will likely see you take the role of a hero. This is particularly true at the beginning, where you have little choice in your initial confrontation with the goblins and their first raid on the grove. All the tieflings will regard you as their hero, and the game seems to be tailor-made for you to find a way to defeat the goblins.

With all that, you’d be excused to assume that Minthara is just another boss fight on your path, and one of the easiest ones to deal with since she’s already in a secluded area. Yet, not only can she berecruited into your party, but she’s also a romanceable companion. However, there’s no peaceful way to get her to join you; you’ll have to raid the Druid’s Grove. Doing so will set you on a mostly evil path, but one rarely taken by fellow players.

5The God BOOOAL

This side quest is one with very little indication that it even exists, and most people only know it from their time in early access. The difference now is that there’s little reason to scan every nook and cranny when there’s so much plot ahead of you, but like all good things in life, Baldur’s Gate 3 is something you shouldn’t rush.

To find this quest, you’ll have to go under the Underdark, but to even begin descending, you have to decide to take this path instead of the mountainside. This is all to do with the path to Moonrise Towers, and the best way to avoid the Shadow Curse.

Once you choose to venture into the Underdark, start heading east past the petrified Drows. You’ll find the entrance to a tower guarded by turrets, but your goal is to the south of the entrance, down some massive mushrooms. Once below, you’ll be treated by some less than friendly Kuo-Toas and their new god, BOOOAL.

4Winning Akabi’s Game

When first arriving at the entrance of Baldur’s Gate, you’ll encounter Rivington, a small town living off the trade from travelers going in and out the big city. While there’s every chance you’ll miss it, there’s a circus in town that you can enter and partake in. It is certainly not required to move on with the game, but within it lie some exciting quests.

Among them, the most notorious one is about a clown, and it’s what most people remember from their time in the circus. There’s also the Trial of Love, where you can deepen your relationships with not only romance options but just friends you’ve made on the way. Yet the most hidden one is Akabi, a djinn that seems to be keeping a mostly straightforward spin the wheel game. It might seem impossible to win, but all you have to do is realize that the game is rigged, andrig it in your favor. Be warned that Akabi won’t take kindly to losing his own game.

3The House Of Hope

The House of Hope is technically impossible to miss, since Raphael takes you there whether you want it or not during Act One. Here, the unfortunate souls that traded their immortal beings for some form of gain are trapped forever, always doing what the Devil asks of them to do. There are plenty of stories regarding Raphael, some even have you chasing down some escapees of the fabled House, but the not so known story is about breaking into the House itself.

Once you make it to Baldur’s Gate proper, you can find a strange shop on the far north. Investigate this shop’s upper floors, and you’ll find that the owner has quite the knowledge of the Hells. With her aid, you can break into the House of Hope, triggering plenty of hidden stories.

2Dealing With The Hag

From the plenty of stories hidden within Baldur’s Gate 3, few are as memorable as the trip to Auntie Ethel’s cottage. It’s incredibly easy to miss, since there’s very little that points you in that direction; it lies on the very first map in the game, to the south.

The developers have even added more hints towards this place, in the form of a shop at the Druid’s Grove. This potions shop is run by Ethel, a seemingly nice old lady looking to help the needy. She mentions her cottage, and if you journey there, you might run into some odd sights.

Not all is what it seems at Ethel’s Cottage, and if you wish to find the truth you’ll have to journey to the depths of her home. You see, Ethel is apowerful Hag, an evil magical creature that, not unlike the devils you’ve found before, strikes deals with people and asks the highest of prices. Her dungeon is one filled with very original traps that might end up having your party attack each other or deal with illusionary explosives.

1The Fate Of Balduran

The most hidden story within Baldur’s Gate has to be the story of Balduran, the founder of Baldur’s Gate. While there are plenty of mentions of this great hero, there doesn’t seem to be any stories that deal directly about him, at least not at first. To even begin this quest, you’ll have to save Wyll’s father from Gortash, since he’s the one that gives you the quest.

That alone is complicated since there’s no immediate clues as to where he’s being held, not to mention that you can even sentence him to death by breaking Wyll’s contract with Mizora. All of that will only give you the entrance of a dungeon dealing with Balduran. You can skip all that if you know where to look, and that place is Wyrm’s Rock Fortress.

You’ll need to go down to where the prisoners are kept and look for two dragon headed torches. Light them with a lightning spell, and you’ll be on your way to know what really happened to the founder of Baldur’s Gate. Just be aware that this story works better if The Emperor is still alive.
