Holocure is an action roguelike in the same vein as games likeVampire Survivorsor20 Minutes Till Dawn, but themed around the performers and fans of Hololive, one of the biggest Vtuber agencies in the world. As one of dozens of virtual idols, you pacify their legions of fans in the now-classic VS-style gameplay of mowing down hordes and upgrading your skills for stage supremacy.

Though the game was previously released, it recently got a Steam debut, so whether you’re a newcomer to the game or you’ve followed your Oshi onto Steam, here are some things you should know before starting Holocure.
7Your Saves Carry Over From The Original
If you’ve played Holocure before it was released on Steam, don’t delete your old copy just yet. If you install the Steam version with your original existing files, most of your progress should carry over and unlock achievements related to that progress.
When you start your newly-installed Steam version of Holocure, you’re likely to get a deluge of achievement-unlocked notifications, which in turn will reward you with associated in-game items. It should be noted that this isn’t a perfect transfer, and you’ll need to re-do some achievements to unlock them, but you get more than you would with a fresh save.

6Some Features Need To Be Unlocked
Whether you’re new to the game or played a version where certain features weren’t yet implemented when you last played, you’ll need to unlock those features to use them. These aren’t small tweaks but major mechanics like special attacks that you’ll want to unlock for the full Holocure experience.
Luckily, most of these features are unlocked in the Enhancement section of the Shop and for relatively cheap as well– likely the amount of Holocoins you get in one good run.

5How To Unlock Home Mode
There’s one feature you won’t unlock in the shop: Home Mode, and it is a doozy. To unlock it, you’ll need to beat a stage, which means surviving 20 minutes and taking out the boss of that stage.
Home Mode is a substantial feature that functions as a companion game to Holocure. You can fish, farm, cook, and command troops to gather cash, as well as decorate and furnish a home. Not only can you make (and spend) extra Holocoins in this mode, but you can also cook dishes from ingredients found in the mode to give you all sorts of buffs in the main game.

4You Can Power Up Stamps
Stamps are items that you find during a run that you can apply to your weapons to give them a special effect for the rest of the run. Up to three stamps can be applied. You can replace the stamps at will, and any stamps not applied to your weapon are left on the ground and can be picked up later.

However, in your rush to get back to the action, you may have also missed that you’re able to also use a stamp that you’ve just picked up to power up a stamp that’s already applied to your weapon, consuming it in the process. You can also swap stamps if you find one more to your liking, and any extra stamps you don’t need can be sold for Holocoins.
3The Game Remembers Your Collabs
Collabs are super-weapons that are analogous to theEvolved Weapons of Vampire Survivor, made by combining two compatible and sufficiently-leveled weapons– or a Collab and an Item for Super Collabs.
All Collab combinations are documented by the game the first time you make them, and you can access them in the pause menu during a run. Also, there’s a panel on the right side of the level up menu that shows a quick reference to previously unlocked Collabs. Having trouble finding Collabs? Here’s one to get you started: X-Potato + Holo-Bomb.

2Not All Achievements Are Steam Achievements
One of the features Holocure acquired in its Steam release was Steam achievements. But even before then, the Holocure had its own in-game achievements you could unlock. If you look closely, however, you’ll notice that while the game has 82 Steam achievements, the in-game achievement page has more than double that– 168.

If you want to add the game tothe Completionist Showcasesection of your Steam profile, you’ll likely only need to do the Steam achievements, but consider doing the non-Steam achievements as well since some of them unlock important things like items that you’re able to encounter in a run.
1There’s Plenty Of Long-Haul Goals
If you love Holocure, there are plenty of things to keep you engaged in the game, and likely only the truly hardcore can do it all.
There’s the Fandoms system which you unlock in the Enhancement section of the shop, can give you permanent buffs on characters you play (and win with) a lot. It’s a few hours of work to max out your Fandom with your Oshi, so if you want to do the whole cast, it’ll be a while.

you may also unlock new outfits for some of the characters with the Tears you get from duplicate gacha rolls, not to mention getting your house just right in Home Mode.
