It can sometimes seem like working as a security guard is a thankless job. They’re often stuck working long hours, and, occasionally, stuck in the middle of some of the creepiest locations possible in the middle of the night. Sure, some can be a bit power-hungry, but at the end of the day, their role is to keep people safe.

Unsurprisingly, horror games have never been shy about including security guards or locations you heavily associate with security guards in games. Sometimes, situations in games will make you glad that there’s a security guard around, at the very least, so that someone else can fall prey to a horrific fate before you.

You may not see any alive in person while navigating through the twisted mall, but you know that if a zombie outbreak were to occur in one, those guards would be the first in line to be bit. Those few extra seconds to run are exactly why security guards can have a little salute.

Anyone who’s played thein much need of a remaster gameSilent Hill 3should already know that no one needs to be stuck in a creepy mall for any period of time. That’s why the world had security guards, to avoid ending up stuck in the twisted world seen in the Silent Hill games.

2Night Security

Night Security is another example of a simple horror game that received a lot more life thanks to the YouTubers who played it. Essentially, you’re a night shift guard taking over after the last one somehow disappeared.

This unnerving game will make you thankful for security guards because you don’t have to deal with horrifically haunted locations on your own. Those hapless guards get to deal with the hauntings on top of the awful work hours; meanwhile, you can continue your streak of avoiding evil spirits.
