From electromagnetic rifles to grenades to your very own fists,Starfieldencourages you to take down your enemies in whatever way you see fit. While you can utilize a variety of weapons in the game, you’ll also have special Powers that you unlock throughout the story.

As you explore different star systems, you will be able to uncover additional unique Powers that you may use. Some of these can be used in combat, but several will have effects that are useful outside of fighting. Precognition is one of these, and has a unique mechanic.

How To Unlock Precognition

In order to unlockPrecognition, you will need toget this Power from one of the templesthat are scattered through the galaxy. Precognition will bethe Power you receive at Temple Iota. Unfortunately, the exactlocation for each temple may vary from player to player, and even playthrough to playthrough.

Using Precognitionbends time so you’re able to glimpse the futurefor a short while. You will be able tosee an indication of the path someone may walk, and thewords someone might sayin a conversation.

How To Use Precognition

There aretwo main waysyou can use Precognition. The first will bethrough conversation, and all you have to do isactivate Precognition right before talking with someone.

As you talk, you will see anadditional text window revealing how the person will respondif you choose a specific dialogue option. Use Precognition to help you make better choices in your conversations, especially if you want toavoid a negative response.

Make sure toactivate Precognition before going into conversations where youmight need to persuade someone, as it will help you decide which dialogue options have a better chance of convincing the other person to see your point of view.

The other use for Precognition is tosee the path and direction someone will walk. To see this,activate Precognition while focusing on the NPCyou want to affect.Glowing specks of light on the ground and in front of the personwill indicate the direction the NPC is about to walk.

Precognition also affects NPCs in general, which can help give you an idea ofwhere multiple people are about to go.

you’re able to use Precognition this way if you everneed to sneak around someone, or if you want to test the waters andtry to pickpocket someone. Having Precognition as your active Power will be beneficial if you want tofocus on a stealth playthrough, or forcertain quests that emphasize discretionand sneaking around.
