InThe Sims 4expansion pack Growing Together, your Sims have a more realistic way to establish relationships with each other. you may add certain characteristics to your Sims while creating them, and these specific traits will determine who they’ll get along with, or vice versa.

The main goal of this new game mechanic is family-centered since the whole point of it is watching your related Sims forging complex connection based on their personalities. Their experiences, likes, dislikes, and overall preferences will shape their family dynamics, leaving room for so many unique interactions: from family drama to togetherness.
Social Compatibility System
The new system within the expansion pack includes additionalLike and Dislikes categories: the Sim’s Characteristics, and the Conversation Topics menu in Create a Sim.This means that you, as a player, can now set different assets for your Sims to be fond of other Sims' characteristics or be interested/uninterested in certain conversations.

How To See Your Sims' Compatibility
If you want to check how compatible your Sims are, they need tointeract firstso that when you view their Relationship Menu (bottom right corner of your screen). There you may select the character of your preference and then select“Open Profile”,and you will find all the information there: preferences, traits, likes, and dislikes.
New Traits And Swapping Traits
The Growing Together expansion packalso added popups that appear during gameplay. These popups appearbased onwhat your Sims are doingand will give you the option to eitheradd a new trait to your Sim or swap one traitthey already have for the opposite.
However, there are no specific actions to trigger the popups. This is to add more variables of experiences and stories for each Sim, as no Sim ever will get to live the same life,even if they do the same things.
It adds a lot of value to the gamesince the opportunities are really endless.You don’t have to worry about your Sim having personality traits you don’t want for them, though.
You can alwaysdecline the popupsfornew traits and trait swaps. That way, you create their story. Still, it is essential to mention this new feature, since it indeed can affect your Sim’s compatibility with each other.
