Stealth is perhaps your most important tool inThe Lamplighters League. Determining the outcome of missions, your mastery of stealth will be the difference between smooth sailing through an enemy stronghold and utter defeat at the hands of every foe for a mile. And every agent - from bruiser to sneak - has their own approach to stealth.
Although sneaking around is an automatic function, there are several features you’ll want to come to grips with before delving too far into your next ancient ruin. In this Noir-styled, action-packed adventure, sometimes it’s best to err on speaking softly rather than wielding a big stick. Or, of course, you could do both.

How To Use Stealth: Noise, Suspicion, And Detection
Stealth is a mechanic thathappens automatically. There is no button you need to press to sneak.
When you stop movingnear an object where you’re able to take cover, youragents will automatically crouch.

However, your stealth isaffected by the Noiseyou make while moving:
Whenwalking around through tall grass, your chances of detection are lower than when walking normally. These patches are excellent ways to hide from foes in dense areas. Smoke clouds caused by bombs or special abilities have a similar effect.
When you make Noise, awhite ring will appearto showcase thearea of Noiseyou’re making. If that ring nears or touches nearby enemies' range of notice, they’ll be able to hear your Noise and willgain Suspicion.

Enemies that are Suspicious willleave their poststo investigate Noise - even if they’re normally at a standstill.
Anenemy’s area of detectionis typicallyindicated by a white ringaround them (or, if your Sneak agent is alone, this will usually appear as a cone). However, enemies sometimes havea yellow circle and an eye above them.

When sneaking up on normal, patrolling enemies, theysometimes completely disappear from your screen’s view. Usually, they are only indicated with a walking circle and a footsteps icon. However, there isa known bugwhere even this is not visible - typically during the game’s steep performance drops.
Enemies that have this mark areGuarding. This means youcannot sneak up on them, even using a Sneak agent.

Guarding enemiesdo not move from their post, however. They will always call over other enemies to investigate Noise.
How To Use Recon
You’ll want to useyour Recon abilitywhen determining the best path for stealthing through an area. This allows you tosee the entire map from aboveand a few key enemies (as well as your goal).
Thisdoes not, however, allow you to see normal, patrolling enemiesthat are outside your agents' immediate range of view.

Using Recon, you may alsoinvestigate the holdings and stats of enemieson the field. This will help you determine the risk vs. reward of attacking enemies.
Keep in mind, however, that using Recon or turning on Turn-Based modedoes not stop the active movement of enemiesaround you. We recommend ensuring you’re in a safe location before using this mode to avoid being dragged into unwanted combat.

How To Attack When Using Stealth: Sucker Punches And Ambushes
Sometimes, you will not be able to avoid combat. However, there area few ways to get the drop on enemiesbefore fights become all-out-brawls:
Sucker Punches are the best modeof taking out guards without alerting others. They canonly be performed by Sneak agentsand are a1-Hit KOon most enemies.

However, be careful where you use your Sucker Punches. Attacking an enemy patrolling near anothermay cause Noiseand raise the Suspicion of nearby foes.
Attackslike Slam or standard shots will generallyalert all nearby enemies. However, getting the drop on groups of unaware targets is sometimes a good thing, too.
On the first round of combat, your agents willgain a 15 percent bonus to their chance to successfully hita target. This is a huge bonus since, once enemies are alertedto your presence, they’llscramble for the nearest cover.
Although you can’t stealth your way through everything, taking every advantage against your foes will be your key to a successful run.
