After the very first mission ofGhostrunner 2, Uninvited Guests, where you explored and defeated some enemies raiding Dharma, the big tower where humans live, you’ll reach a new zone where two holograms and a menacing-looking ninja are reviving their boss, Mitra.

The two holograms are characters you’ll know later, while the one carrying the whole operation, Ahriman, is the first boss you’ll fight against in the game. After they revive Mitra, Ahriman will jump to the stage and attack you. Ahriman is all about heavy attacks and quick dashes; defeating him is not easy.

Ghostrunner 2 Ahriman Performing A Downward Slash

You can split the battle into two phases:

Phase One

The battle begins with Ahrimanreaching you on the battle platform. You’ll be in front of him, and thenhe can either attack you or start dashing back and forth, trying to distract youuntil he gets behind you to attackwith one of histwo sword slashes.

At close range, he can either attack you with thedownward slash, which is special becauseit creates two energy waves at the sides of Ahriman’s swordwhen it lands on the floor, or ahorizontal slash, which isa swing with no further effect. It has more range than the downward slash.

At a longer range, Ahrimancan either get some more distance from you and start throwing Shurikenat you,or he can highly jump in the air to then pounce, creatinga shockwavein a circle that expands progressively until taking the whole battling platform.

After damaging Ahriman for a while, you’ll go through a cutscenewhere he throws you into the void. An unknown ally will rescue you, leading to a small Parkour zone, where you mustgo through walkable walls while blocking Shuriken until you reach the battling platform. From now on, you’ll be playing in Phase Two.

Ghostrunner 2 Ahriman Performing A Shockwave

Phase Two

Phase Two is almost the same as Phase One;Ahriman will perform the same attacksas before, except for the pounce, which now creates a bigger unavoidable shockwave; you’ll need touse the Grappling Gun on Bakuninto keep yourself alive.

Ahriman The Destroyer Strategy

During the whole battle, you’ll want tohold your position as much as you can.Ahriman will constantly dash, so you mustfollow him with your camera until he gets close to you.At that exact moment, start blocking.

When he gets far from you, he’ll start throwing his Shuriken. You canblock, parry, or avoid them, but if you go for the last option, verify you don’t stop moving,as the Shuriken can slightly track you. It’s not enough to chase you while you are dashing, but it’s enough to hit you if you aren’t fast.

Lastly, when he pounces, jump to avoid the shockwave and dash towards him to land a couple of hits.

Then, you’ll reach Phase Two, which is way easier than the first one because ofBakunin’s help. You canuse the grappling gun on him to avoid the Shuriken, and you must do it to avoid the after-pounce shockwave. You can use a unique skill in this battle, namedCall For Help, where Bakunin will stun Ahriman, and you can use the grappling gun to dash towards him. You’ll seriously damage it with this skill, souse it as much as you can.

Dealing with Ahriman while tracking Bakunin can be hard. Thankfully, you can see where Bakunin is by taking a look at the mini-map. It’ll really help you when you need to avoid the after-pounce shockwave.
