However, like all things in Armored Core, if you don’t have the right approach, these battles can be tricky. The Rank-F crew are definitely some of the easier ACs you will mash metal with, but by the time you run up against G6, you may still want a few pointers. That’s what this guide is for!

Fighting Rummy

Rummy is built exclusively for close quarters encounters. However, while he has a balanced build, he isn’tparticularlyagile. He will heavily favor using his melee attacks, which is good for you, as it makes him easy to exploit. Especially since his boost speed is mediocre.

If youstrafe around Rummy while lighting him up with shoulder rockets. Then, when he commits to his melee attack, Quick Boost just out of range and then hit him with your heaviest weapons. We recommend using the hardest-hitting weapons you have available, as he will be locked into that melle animation for quite some time, so startup or recovery time aren’t really an issue.A good choice would be dual wielding DF-BA-06 XUAN-GE Bazookas.

Rummy is also a sucker for linear missile launchers that travel straight (such as the BML-G1). While you are dashing away, launch these missiles at him and he will typically run directly into them headfirst as he pursues you.

Fighting Dunham

Dunham has an all-around mech. His Machine Gun can harass you in the mid-range, and his missiles can tag you if you aren’t paying attention. But neither pose a real threat. The most powerful weapon Dunham has is his Bazooka, but that is only ever going to hit you if you are standing still (or staggered).

One thing Dunham most certainly does NOT have is a great option for melee combat. So,the best way to deal with him, on our opinion, is to strap on a Plasma Blade, Assault Burst in, cut him up, and finish him off with Shotgun blasts.Stick to him and crush him with your oppressive close-quarters combat options. He really doesn’t have a great option for a nose-to-nose encouinter.

Armored Core 6, Rank F Arena, Cutting through Dunham with a Plasma Blade

We specify using the Assault Burst specifically because it increases the power of your Plasma Blade slash. This technique can be a touch finiky, but even if you haven’t been using it, this is theperfectvenue for practicing it.

Fighting G6

G6 is definitely the toughest of the F-Rank battles you’ll face. His AC is lighter, and he is better suited for speed. So, pegging him down can be pretty difficult. He will be locking onto you, and bombard you with missiles, while hoping to stagger you so that he can unload his bazooka directly into your core. Lastly, G6 is more comfortable taking to the air than the other Rank F ACs. If he gets a good angle on you, it make his missiles harder to dodge, so take to the air to eliminate his advantage when he does this.

If you have Reverse-Joint legs you will be the superior aerial fighter. While they aren’t mandatory for this mission, it will give youanotheradvantage.

Ultimately, that means we need to be more mobile and focus more on volume and less on power. The best way to fight G6 Red is to slap some homing missiles on your shoulders, put a full auto rifle in each hand, and then go full-dual trigger on him. Equip your best FCS chip for Medium-Range assistance, and get make sure your AC is light and mobile.

Once the battle starts, get into the mid-range, Quick Boost to the side, and circle him while unload all your weapons. You should be too fast for any of G6’s missiles to land, and he certainly won’t able to hit with his Bazooka. Just stay in that middle-range, use a Quick Burst any time missiles get close, and keep unloading your rifles into him. Youwillbe victorious!
