Sonic Superstarshas a staggering amount of boss encounters that reside within some of the Acts within the many Stages in the game. Some stages house one boss fight, while many will have two, such as the Speed Forest, with its Dragonfly boss in Act One, and Monkey boss in Act Two.
With both encounters offering a vastly different strategy to take them down, the second Stage is already a considerable step up from the previous one, forcing you to use solid platforming and decision-making to overcome them. While Chaos Emeralds will still be handy in one of the encounters, the other renders them utterly useless, so be prepared!

Sonic Superstars: Speed Forest, Act One - Dragonfly Boss Guide
Act Oneof theSpeed Forest Stageends with a showdown against a roboticDragonflythat kidnapped a penguin inside its chassis. This fight can be a bit troubling, but with thepower of the Chaos Emeralds, you can take this thing down in no time, which we will demonstrate in the sections below!
Phases One & Two: Avatar Chaos Emerald Power
Phases one and twoare the easiest, as you can simply use theAvatar Chaos Emerald(Blue) tocall in clones of your character to hit the Dragonfly. After they hit the Dragonfly on the first screen, you can quickly run over to the second one, where your clones will hit the Dragonfly again, instantly taking you to the third and final phase.
Theonly attack you must watch out for here is the Dragonfly’s retractable spike, but once you land a hit on it with your Avatars, you are guaranteed to hit it again as soon as you transition to the second screen. Use this method to bypass these two phases quickly, then prepare for the third one!

Phase Three: Spike Floors
Phase number threeis where things get a bit spicy, so let’s go over all the threats you must keep an eye out for before outlining how you should land the final blow. First up are thetwo spike pitsthatperiodically rise from the ground and retractthroughout the fight.
When jumping around and trying to evade the Dragonfly’s other attacks, these spike pits can trip you up, so be mindful of where you are and if they’re out, as they can spell trouble!

Phase Three: Lightning Orbs
Next up is theDragonfly’s Lightning Orbs, having itsummon them high into the air before having them fall downward at blazingly fast speeds. To evade this attack, stand in the centerplatform and, after the first Lightning Orb drops, quickly jump to where it fellto avoid getting hit by the others.
Thespike pits will be up during this section,so please be mindful of them. This attack is quite challenging to evade successfully, so ifworst comes to worst, just take the hit, recollect your Rings, and move on to the next partof the phase!

Phase Three: Charging Attack
Its final attack of phase three is acharging attack, having theDragonfly soar past the bottom of the screen, forcing you tojump over it to evade taking damage.Avoiding this attack is simple enough, as thespike pits won’t be active, and youhave plenty of time to see and reactto it!
Phase Three: Bullet Chaos Emerald Power
Now that you know of the Dragonfly’s attacks in phase three, it’s time to learn how to deliver the finishing strike and move on to the second Act of the Speed Forest Stage. To do this, ready theBullet Chaos Emerald Ability, thenwait for the Dragonfly to begin itsLightning Orbattack.
You’ll know when this attack is coming, as it willfly to the top center of the screen and temporarily halt its movement.Once this happens, use yourBullet Ability to launch yourself into the underbelly of the Dragonfly, causing it to explode, freeing the bird within it, and completing the mission!

Sonic Superstars: Speed Forest, Act Two - Monkey Boss Guide
With the first and second boss encounters of Sonic Superstars being defeated viaChaos Emerald Abilities, you may be delighted to learn that thethird boss is immune to them, forcing you to turn to other means of taking it down.
TheMetal MonkeyofAct Twoof theSpeed Forest Stageis quite challenging compared to the others, but we have broken down all of its actions and how to counter them in the sections below to make it much more manageable!

Phase One: Slam Attack
Opening up its onslaught, theMetal Monkeywillshimmy across the horizontal pole above youbeforequickly slamming onto the ground with tremendous force.Youcan only get out of the way here,as youcannot damage itquite yet. It will typically dothree to four slams,so be prepared to dodge like no tomorrow!
Phase One: Extending Arms
Next, the Metal Monkey willextend its arms outward, tracking your character’s positioning. This is where youcan deal damageto it. To do this, have the arms build a series of bridges until you reach its upper body, then have thenext arm track in front of its face, and thenquickly get out of the way as it begins to extendtoward you.
Theextending arm will smack the Metal Monkey in its face, damaging it.From here, it will performanother series of slams before carrying out this attack again.Like this time, you will have to let it hit itself in the face with its own arm, which will kick off the second phase!

Phase Two: Pole Twirl
Kicking offphase two,the Metal Monkey will move to thevertical pole in the center of the arenabeforeviolently spinning around it, periodically extending outwardin an attempt to hit you. Youcan jump over it when it gets low enough to the ground, which will be your best course of action to evade damage entirely.
Youcannot damage the Metal Monkey here,so just avoid getting hit and move on to the next attack!

Phase Two: Missiles
After spinning on the vertical pole, the Metal Monkey willmove back to the horizontal one, this time staying in thecenterof it. When here, it willtoss out a handful of missiles.Five missiles will be small red ones, andone will be alarge blueone.
Jump into the large blue missile to knock it back toward the Metal Monkey, causing it to hit it and explode, dealing substantial damage to them. The Metal Monkey will move to the third and final phase from here!
Phase Three: Four Extending Arms
Ourthird and final phaseof this encounter will have theMetal Monkeylaunch itsretractable limbsat you once more, except this time with a catch: It willonly launch four armsat you this time, forcing you tomake all of them count.
Thefirst one will always be a diagonal one launched straight into the groundyou cannot control, with the following three being the ones you need to utilize to land the final blow. Use thenext twotomake a bridge:thefirst is relatively lowto the ground, and thesecond is roughly in the middleof the screen.
After that, you will want totime your jump to position yourself in front of the Metal Monkey’s face, having the arm launch at you just as you pass byits face, letting you evade taking damage and deliver the final blow to it in one fell swoop.
If youmess up here, the Metal Monkey will revert to its missile phase, which you willhandle the same exact waybefore getting another opportunity to take it down via this method!
