If there’s one nice thing we can say about Kraven inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, it’s that when it finally boils down to a one-on-one(ish), no-holds-barred, boss battle, he truly wants Peter Parker to give his all. Kraven wants to be brought to the edge of the abyss, and he’d rather lose than never have fought at all.
But that’s about it. He’s a terrible person, a monster of a man, and while Peter pushes things abitfar, it still feels good to beat him within an inch of his life. Here’s how.

Updated August 03, 2025:We’ve added a video version of this guide to help you hunt down the fierce hunter, Kraven.
First Round: Punch-Out
At the start of this rather lengthy fight, Kraven’s a straightforward battler. He’s all fists and blows, butdon’t be fooled by his size - he’s pretty fast, too. Thankfully, so is Spider-Man. Use that slight speed boost to your advantage, keeping Kraven away from you when he’s launching his more powerful combos.
When Kravenlooks like he’s about to lunge his whole body forward, don’t block; dodge. Even parrying won’t amount to much. Otherwise, parrying is a good option if you think you’ve got the timing down pat. Right now, Kraven’s fairly predictable overall - aside from his deadly lunges, he’s got a bad case of the old ‘one-two-three punch’ trope, meaning there’s awindow of opportunity following the third punch to get some good hits in.

Second Round: For Whom The Bell Tolls
For the record, we’re just making up these round names. Don’t go looking for them elsewhere on the net, because either you won’t find them, or someone else out there has identical taste in pop culture references, which would be weird. Anyway.
Once Kraven’sfirst health bar is depleted,a cutscene occurs in which a bell goes and messes things up for Peter in a big way. The game may note this for you, but in case it doesn’t,you want to shoot your webs at the bell enough times so that it stops being such a problem. Meanwhile, Kraven himself is very fond of lunges in this phase, so maintain some space andhammer at him with your Symbiont abilities. He’s pretty defenseless against these.

When the hounds appear, be sure to get rid of them ASAP. Leaving any of them be means having at least two enemies coming at you at a rapid clip, and they’ll probably go down in a few hits, besides.
Final Round: The Fear
At this point, Kraven can effectivelycloak himselfat times. He’ll also hang outatop a tree branch with a rifle, and he’s gotsmoke bombsto blur Peter’s - and your - vision. If a smoke bomb obscures your line of sight, our best advice is to keep running in an unpredictable zigzag pattern for the handful of seconds it’s in place. You can be sure Kraven’s AI is programmed to take full advantage of these scary little moments.
The trick here is that you should be able to discern Kraven’s movements somewhat even when he’s cloaked. Look for shadows, ripples in the leaves, anything. If push comes to shove, and it’s just not working for you, fear not; he’ll show up again soon enough.
Kraven will also ring the bell again, and there’ll be more dogs, too;be ready to heal, because a lot of this is going to happen in great haste toward the very end of the fight. Stay focused, keep spamming symbiont attacks, and don’t let the dialogue’s tempo rush you into any regrettable mistakes. Soon enough, he’ll drop. Or rather, something else will happen, but that’s all we’ll say on that score!
