Quick Links
Though the Teal Mask DLC forPokemon Scarlet & Violetmay be short in terms of story, it comes packed with plenty of smaller challenges and minigames to keep you entertained. Chief amongst these are the secret battles against the challenging Kitakami Ogre Clan.
Designed to be difficult boss-like trainers, they all come equipped with high-level teams with diverse typings making them difficult to defeat with a single Pokemon. However, even finding them can be a struggle. In this guide, we’ll show you their exact locations, as well as sound strategies for defeating them.
Kitakami Ogre Clan Locations
Initially, there are seven members of the Kitakami Ogre Clan to find and defeat. You can come across them entirely by chance, or you could get some help from an in-game NPC.
At Kitakami Hall, to the right of the stairs before you enter the festival,a man in an Ogerpon mask will give you rewardsfor each member of the Ogre Clan beaten, as well ashints to find their locations.

Kotetsu
Kotetsu can be found atthe bottom of a cave in the Crystal Pools, located at the very top of Oni Mountain.
Munechika
Munechika can be foundon the eastern edge of Oni Mountain, standing on a cliff edge overlooking Fellhorn Gorge.
Hasebe
Hasebe can be found within Fellhorn Gorge, standing on the edge of one of the central raised islands.
Kanemitsu
Kanemistsu can be found in the Paradise Barrens, inthe northeastern section near where Okidogi is battled.
Kunitsuna
Kunitsuna can be found on the western side of Oni Mountain, rightin front of a small pool of water beside the Wistful Fields
Raikiri
Raikiri can be found directlynorth of Mossui Town, in a small cavemidway up the waterfall.
Masamune
Masamune is found below the Kitakami Hall,in a small Bamboo Grove. In fact, he is almost astraight drop-down from the man who offers you hintsas to the location of Kitakami Ogre Clan members.
How To Defeat The Kitakami Ogre Clan
Finding the seven members of the Kitakami Ogre Clan is only half the challenge. They’re all high-level opponents, using battle teams of approximately level 75,depending on when you start the DLC.
Monotype Pokemon will have few advantages here, as they tend to havemulti-typed, diverse Pokemon that can cover all their weaknessesand maximise their strengths.

Kotetsu mainly focuses on Fighting-typePokemon, so you’re safest bet would be to focus on Pokemon with theFairy or Flying types, like Ribombeeto maximise your chances.
Flying, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Fairy (4×).
Munechika runs a monotype Normal team, meaning fighting is the way to go. These are buff Pokemon though, so be prepared towhittle down their HP while surviving their tough strikes.
Fighting
Hasebe’s team has a water preferencewith good type coverage, so your best bet would be aBug-Electric type like Vikavolt, being mindful of Drednaw’s Rock moves.
Ghost, Grass, Electric, Dark.
Kanemitsu runs both Fire and Grass-type Pokemonwith no ultimately shared weakness. Here, it’s best to have a more diverse team covering a few of their weaknesses.
Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire, Ice.
Kunitsuna runs a Rock and Ice-type team. However, they all share a weakness against Steel-types, so aBronzong with Levitateas its ability would be a great match for them.
Fighting, Steel, Fire, Water, Grass.
Raikiri has a primarily Electric-type teamwith good type coverage. Ground is the way to go, with a Pokemon likeGliscor a great match-up here. Just be wary of Vikavolt’s Levitate ability here.
Rock, Fire.
Masamune runs a Fairy-type team, though each of them has both a Poison and Steel weakness, giving you plenty of opportunities to beat them.Munkidori himself would make a good companion here.
Poison, Steel.
Final Ogre Clan Battle And Rewards
For each member of the Kitakami Ogre Clan that is defeated, the man at the Kitakami Hall will offer you a reward, as follows:
However, upon claiming all these rewards, the man will reveal himself to beMuramasa, the leader of the Kitakami Ogre Clan, and challenge you to a battle.

He uses a wide variety of Pokemon, but his team hasprimarily Ghost-type Pokemonso there are no significant advantages, especially since Ghost Pokemon are weak to Ghost moves.
Annhilape’s Fighting typedoes give it extra advantages against Muramasa’s Crawdaunt and Kingambit, however.

Dark-Steel
Fighting (4×), Ground, Fire.
For defeating him,Muramasa will grant you an Ability Patchthat allows you to change a Pokemon’s regular Ability into it’s Hidden Ability.
