The Abyssal Fracture is a level 90 Trial inFinal Fantasy 14: Endwalker. After defeating Golbez in his fortress on the Red Moon, the Warrior of Light has one final task to complete to ensure the survival of the Source: stop Zeromus.
Zeromus is a Voidsent created using Azdaja’s aether, instilling in it a longing to return home to the Source. To prevent the final invasion of the Voidsent from the Thirteenth, you’ll need to rally together and push back Zeromus in the Abyssal Fracture. Below, we’ll take a look at every attack and mechanic in this fight, and how to avoid them.

How To Unlock The Abyssal Fracture
The Abyssal Fracture is unlocked through the Main Scenario quests added in patch 6.5.
If you leave the Red Moon before accepting this quest, you may return by interacting with theGate to the Red Moon in Mare Lamentorum (X:19.3, Y:29.3).

Zeromus Phase One
There areno borderspresent in the arena throughout this fight, sotake care not to fall off. If you do happen to fall, you’ll be instantly killed, but returned to the platform where you’re able to be resurrected.
Zeromus’s attacks and mechanics for the first three-quarters of this fight are detailed in the following table.
Abyssal Nox
Roomwide AoE/Doom
Sets all party members to one HP, then inflictsDoomwith a 20-second timer. This Doom debuff can becleansed by healing the target to full HPwithin 20 seconds.
Sable Thread
Line Stack Marker
Targets a random player with aline stack marker. Group up on the targeted player’s position and heal through themultiple instances of damagefrom this attack.
Visceral Whirl
AoE
Zeromus will target the arena withtwo sets of perpendicular line AoEs, withsafe spots on opposing corners of the arena. Quickly move to either of the safe spots to avoid taking damage.
Dark Matter
AoE Tankbuster
Targets the main tank with alarge circular AoE Tankbuster. Usedefensive cooldownsto mitigate this damage, while moving away from the rest of the party.
Flare
Summon/Stack Marker
Summons apillarthat is marked with astack marker. Group up next to the pillar to split the damage of the incoming AoE.
Nox
Chasing AoE
Immediately after Flare, two players will be targeted with achasing AoE attack, indicted by the arrows following them.Run to either corner of the back side of the arenato drop the initial AoE, thenrun back toward the bossto avoid the following AoEs as they move toward you.
Void Bio
Zeromus will summon aline of Toxic Bubblesat the front of the arena. After a second, these willmove down the length of the arena at varying speeds, inflicting thePollen damage-over-time debuffif they come into contact with a player. Find the slower Toxic Orbs to stand in front of while waiting for a safe spot to appear.
Big Bang
AoE/Special
Covers the majority of the arena in circle AoEs before dealing damage to all party members while inflicting a variety of effects on random players.
Meteor Impact
AoE/Proximity Tether
Zeromus will create a meteor in the center of the arena that will then createproximity tethers to each player. All players shouldspread out from one anotherwhile moving far enough away from the meteor until theirtether turns into a dotted orange lineinstead of a pink arrow line.
Black Hole
A largecircle AoE will appear in back left corner of the arena, while aline AoE appears from Zeromusto the left edge of the arena. When the attack begins, the Black Hole circle AoE will begin toexpand, while the line AoErotates counterclockwise. Runbehind the line AoEand move with it while staying as far from the circle AoE as you may.
Void Meteor
Proximity AoE
Createsfour proximity AoEsin each corner of the arena.Move to the center of the arenato lessen the damage of this attack. Each proximity AoE will leave behind acracked meteorthat will become relevant in a moment.
Big Crunch
This attack producesthe same effects as Big Bang, butremoves HP Penaltyand inflictsBig Bounce on all players.
Zeromus will repeat these mechanics until it reachesaround 25 percent health remaining, at which point it will castRend the Riftand move the fight into phase two.
Zeromus Phase Two
After using Rend the Rift, Zeromus will use different attacks for the remainder of the right. You can find details on each below.
Lightning AoEs
Severalcircle and line AoEswill appear around the arena, dealing damage after a few seconds. Move accordingly to avoid.
Nostalgia
Roomwide AoE
Deals damage inseveral instances. Heal through these attacks while usingAoE shields and mitigation.
Flow of the Abyss/Akh Rhai
Tethers to acrack in the wall of the arena, indicating that aline AoE will shoot outfrom it after a few seconds. At the same time, Zeromus will castAkh Rhaion all players, targeting them withAoE markers. Spread out while avoiding the horizontal line in the middle of the arena.
Chasmic Nails
Zeromus will target the arena with5 conal AoEs in a sequencebefore hitting those areas. Watch where the AoE indicators appear, then move into a previous AoE after Zeromus hits it to avoid the rest.
Zeromus will repeat these attacks until it is defeated.Chasmic Nailsis the most dangerous attack in phase two. Try to follow your more experienced allies to avoid this if you’re having trouble.
The only loot in the normal version of the Abyssal Fracture is theZeromus Triple Triad Card. If this doesn’t drop, feel free to exit the instance and continue on with the story.
