New characters are always one of the main attractions whenever a new update comes around inHonkai: Star Rail. This was the same for the Version 1.2 update, which saw the release of Blade in the first half and Kafka with Luka in the second half.

Luka was first featured as a four-star character on the Kafka banner. He’s a Nihility character with Physical as a combat type. Apart from being one of the best supports for Kafka, his kit also has the potential to single-handedly win any battle if you build him with the correct gear.
Best Relics And Planar Ornaments For Luka
Each Relic and Planar Ornament in Honkai: Star Rail has a set bonus that can beactivated by placing two or more pieces of that set on a particular character. Here are the set bonuses that Luka can benefit the most from:
Relics
Champion of Streetwise Boxing
Apart from the Physical DMG bonus on the two-piece, this Relic set also gives youfive percent ATK every time you attack an enemy or get hit by them. This stacks up to five times, giving Luka a 25 percent ATK increase.
This can be great for him since theDoT damage scales on ATK in Honkai: Star Rail.

Thief of Shooting Meteor
Luka’s Basic Attack, Skill, and Ultimate are all great for breaking an enemy’s Toughness bar, whichmakes the 32 percent Break Effect from this set quite good on him.
Musketeer of Wild Wheat
The four-piece of this setgives Luka increased ATK, SPD, and Basic Attack DMG. All these stats are perfect for him, especially because his Basic Attack can easily be enhanced to deal multiple instances of damage.
Planar Ornaments
Space Sealing Station
With 120 SPD or higher, you may getup to 24 percent extra ATK from this Ornament set. Since it’s not that hard to get the required SPD on Luka, this Ornament set fits him perfectly.
Talia: Kingdom of Banditry
If you’re going for a Break Effect build with the Thief Relic set, you can place this Ornament set on Luka toget even more damage when you trigger Weakness Break.
Although, the high SPD requirement from this set makes itworse than Space Sealing Station.

Apart from the set bonuses, each gear you place on Luka has its own main stat and four sub-stats. These stats are completely based on luck asyou try to get them by spending a bunch of Trailblaze Power. Some of these stats can be better for Luka than others, and here are all the main stats you should be looking for:
HP (guaranteed)
ATK (guaranteed)
Link Rope
Energy Regeneration Rate / ATK Percent
The main stats mentioned above are specifically for the DoT-based build for Luka, which requires a ton of ATK since your Skill’s DoT gets capped by it. If you’re planning to build him on single-target DPS, you’re able to also go for Crit. Although, this will be much harder since he doesn’t have any Crit nodes in his Traces.
When it comes to sub-stats, you can look forATK Percent, SPD, Break Effect, and a bit of Effect Hit Ratefor him.
Best Light Cones For Luka
Honkai: Star Rail already has a bunch of Nihility Light Cones that can be used on Luka, but here are the best ones for him:
In the Name of the World
Luka has a chance of applying a single target with a debuff whenever his Skill or Ultimate is used, and thisLight Cone increases his DMG to these debuffed enemies. It also increases his ATK and Effect Hit Rate while using his Skill.
Good Night and Sleep Well
This Light Cone also increases your damage (including DoT)based on the number of debuffs possessed by the enemy. Although, Luka can only give an enemy two debuffs, making this Light Cone more useful if you use him with another Nihility character.
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
When Luka hits an enemy with his Ultimate, he increases the damage dealt to that enemy for three turns. This Light Conehas a chance of applying the Ensnared effect on hitting an enemy, which further reduces their DEF.
Hidden Shadow
After using a couple of Luka’s abilities including his Skill, his Basic Attack can be buffed. This buffstacks with the additional DMG dealt by the Basic Attackbecause of this Light Cone.
Luka Traces Overview And Priority
Here’s everything you can expect from all the active and passive abilities possessed by Luka:
Sky-Shatter Fist
Enhanced Basic Attack
After consuming two stacks of Fighting Will, this attack deals three hits of Direct Punch, andthen one Uppercut to the same enemy.
Lacerating Fist
Skill
Deals Physical DMG to one enemy and has a 100 percent base chance toapply Bleed for three turns.
Coup de Grâce
Ultimate
Has a 100 percent base chance of increasing the DMG received by the targetbefore dealing massive Physical DMG to it. Activating the Ultimate also gives him two stacks of Fighting Will.
Flying Sparks
Talent
You can get one stack ofFighting Will upon using his normal Basic Attack or Skill. Moreover, if the Uppercut from the enhanced Basic Attack hits a Bleeding enemy, the DoT is triggered instantly.
Anticipator
Technique
Gains one stack of Fighting Will and deals DMG to a random enemy upon the start of the battle. This enemy has a100 percent base chance to gain the Bleed effect.
Crush Fighting Will
Bonus Ability
The Direct Punches from the enhanced Basic Attack have a50 percent chance of dealing an additional hit.
If you’re planning to upgrade Luka’s Traces, his Ultimate takes priority sinceyou can increase the DMG taken by the enemy with this. This can be followed up by his Skill to increase the DoT damage and his Basic Attack after that. You can upgrade his Talent last since itincreases the Bleed damage when it triggers instantlyafter the enhanced Basic Attack.
It’s important to get all of Luka’s Bonus Abilities and other nodes since theygive you extra ATK and Effect Hit Ratefor him.
