Most are just for decoration or accomplishments, but some like the Firebreathing Dragonfly, you’ll need for quests.

What Is A Firebreathing Dragonfly?
TheFirebreathing Dragonflyis aRare rarity insect native to Kilima Valleywith a bright-orange red body that makes it easier to spot from a distance.
They’re worth125 Gold for a base version and 187 Gold for a Star Quality one. It’s one of several insects that dropsSilk Thread,and it dropsbetween zero and seven when caught.
While its in-game description mentions a fiery breath, theFirebreathing Dragonfly does not spit flame at you, but its high speed makes it difficult to catch.
One Firebreathing Dragonfly is required for Badruu’s friendship quest, Music To My Ears. They alsocount towards several Accomplishments: Kilima and Bahari Bug Catcher, Master Kilima and Bahari Bug Catcher, My First Rare Bug, Catch Bugs, and Advanced Bug Catcher.
How To Catch A Firebreathing Dragonfly
To find a Firebreathing Dragonfly, you’ll need to search aroundMirror Pond Ruins, Mirror Fields, and near Badruu and Delaila’s Family Farm, and they can appear any time of day.
While any sort of smoke bomb will work on them, the best kind to use is theSticky Smoke Bomb, whose recipe isobtainable from Auni once you improve your Bug Catching level, as they slow it down considerably.
Their bright coloring can help you spot them from far awayand give you a better chance of dazing them before they fly off. TheSmoke Candle consumable, also obtainable from Auni, can help as well.
Repeatedly pelting them with the Sneaky Smoke Bomb while it’s dazed, and you’re up close on it,can give you a slightly better chance of dazing them again before they can fly off if you don’t have Sticky Smoke Bombs.
