Updated on July 02, 2025:Now that we’ve mastered the skies in Skies of Azoria, we’re back to update some of our Fae Farm content to include the new information from the DLC. We’ve added some extra info about the DLC to our critter-catching guide, and we’ve included a bit more info about processing your catches, too.
Critters Change With Regions And Seasons
When you first get to Azoria, you’ll begin seeingdifferent kinds ofbugsfluttering here, there, and everywhere around town. These are Critters, as the game refers to them, and it’s not far into the game’s introduction that you meetMel, thefriendly local bug-catcherwho offers your very firstCritter Netso you can beginworking on your critter-catching skill.
When you need to review your Critters, they can be located in theCritters & Creaturessection of the Almanac. There, they’re separated out by similar types and which season they appear during.

Once you’ve got a net, you can beginapproaching bugsout in the world (potentiallysneaking up on trickier bugsto get the jump on them by holding the button to swing your net), and swinging your net when you’re close enough in the hopes of catching the Critter.Critters you can catch will sparkle as you approach, so be mindful to get in range.
More difficult Critters may requiremore swingsbefore they’re finally caught, while other, notably rare Critters may be easier to catch withupgraded netsthatMel will sell youfor a price of both Florins and resources. You also run the risk ofscaring critters awayif you don’t catch them, so be careful with where you’re swinging!

If you’d like tosell Critters for Florinsas a means ofmaking some cash in the game, you’re able to do so. If you’d rather save them forfarming materials in aConservatory, it’s a great way to collect resources without having to hope for a bug to drop it. You’llneed plenty of critters for making potions, making it a critical thing to level upalongside your magic skills.
Be sure youupgrade your net regularly, especially as you begin toadvance through the gameand find rarer bugs more often. Don’t be caught without the right tools! You’ll see a popup if you attempt to catch a critter your net can’t handle yet, withrarer critters limited to higher-level nets.
