There’s a lot that goes on in the valley, and it’s time to check in with the resident wizard to verify all is in order.

When dealing with a situation as big as The Forgetting, it’s easy to miss a meal or two. It’s your job to ensure Merlin takes care of himself when he gets caught up in his work because he always looks out for you, too.
How To Unlock A Lesson In Frustration Friendship Quest
Once you reach friendship level 4and have cleared the path to Dazzle Beach, you’ll unlock Merlin’s Friendship Quest. While usually put together, he seems a little off today.
Talk to Merlin and he’ll vent his frustration: his latest experiment isn’t working the way it should and it sounds like he needs a break. You ask him when he last ate, and the answer is rather concerning.
Unlike most villagers, Merlin tends to ignore basic human needs for himself,such as sleepingand, in this case, food. You’ll have tohelp him out by preparing a delicious mealthat will restore his energy and help him focus on his work.
After all, it is for the good of the valley.
What Meal To Cook For Merlin
There are plenty oftasty-looking recipesto make, andMerlin would likely enjoy most of them.For the sake of the quest, you need tomake at least a 2-star mealto satiate his hunger and vanquish his foul mood.
Pick one of your favorite recipes, orwhichever is easier to make with the ingredients you have available, and head to the nearest stove.
Any meal above a 2-star rating will also complete this objective, though you won’t earn any additional friendship for your extra efforts. Merlin is hungry and food is food, though he greatly appreciates you going out of your way for him.
Someeasy meals to makewith two ingredients areVegetable Soup, Seafood Platter, Fish Sandwiches, and Tasty Veggies.Get creative with your ingredients and cook something up, making sureyou have coal to activate the stove.
Bring The Meal To Merlin
Once you’ve finished cooking, it’s time to feed your friend, solocate Merlin on your map and return to him with the dish.He’ll smell it coming and be quite grateful.
Realizing he was so wrapped up in his studies, he humbly takes the meal, and thanks you for your service. You’ll watch his sour mood disappear as he goes back to being his usual self.
While Merlin’s hunger has been dealt with for now,check back daily to see what his favorite gifts are.You can earn additional friendship points with himby providing meals he asks for or serving him food he orders at the restaurant, which will unlock later Friendship Quests as you progress through the game.
You’ll earn friendship with Merlin for looking out for him and rest easy knowing that he’s well-fed and able to focus on his work. Who knows when the valley will need his impeccable wisdom again?
